PART ONE OF THREE HAHAHA SOB
Three favorite relationships:
Yamamoto and Gokudera - I swear this isn't just because I ship them! It's actually the opposite--I ship them because theirs is my favorite relationship on the show. In fact, most days I prefer gen anyway. The thing is, Tsuna is the first person Gokudera opened up to, but Yamamoto is really the first balanced friendship Gokudera ever developed. Gokudera and Tsuna's relationship for a long time (though things have changed since) was kind of tied up with Tsuna being a little weirded out by Gokudera's violent tendencies/casual insanity, and Gokudera thinking of himself as always below Tsuna, as a subordinate first and foremost. Yamamoto, on the other hand, is someone who's an equal to him, and I think their relationship has tended to be more honest and less hesitant. Yamamoto sees right past Gokudera's brashness and angryfaces, and for all that Gokudera is constantly insulting him, we've had a number of nice little moments during the series (here are two examples that come to mind) that show that in truth he respects him a lot. So I really love their dynamic and their interaction, because there's so much shounen teamwork and trust and awesomeness involved. Plus, they are funny as hell.
Tsuna and Enma - FAILURE LADS. ♥ I love that after all this time, Tsuna's finally found someone relatively normal in the mafia world, another loser like him. And it was incredibly how quickly their relationship became the most adorable thing ever, and then just kept getting more adorable. And Tsuna is so openly in love with him, to a degree we've never seen from him before; I swear that ever since they've met, every third word out of Tsuna's mouth has been "Enma." And Enma in turn has finally learned how to trust because of Tsuna. For someone like him to have developed such unconditional faith in someone who started out as an enemy almost makes me baww happy tears thinking about it. I think that if they had met as little kids they would have been joined at the hip and would have done absolutely everything together to the point where eventually they would have started finishing each other's sentences. This will probably eventually happen anyway.
Reborn and Tsuna - Last but not least, couldn't leave this one out. Reborn and Tsuna have such a wonderful dynamic; Tsuna is always whining about the mafia and all the craziness it's brought into his life, and on the bad days maybe he might even resent Reborn a little bit, but on the other side of the coin, Reborn has taught him to see an entirely new side of himself. He's helped him grow into this amazing person, this confident leader. And of course, he never would have met his friends if not for him either, so he's also super grateful to him, and on the whole he's glad that most of these things have come into his life even though there are some experiences he could have happily gone his whole life without! HAHA, IT'S COMPLICATED. And as for Reborn, I think he really sees Tsuna's potential more clearly than anyone else, and he understands how Tsuna's amazingness is very much tied in to his loserness. The fact that he's so gentle and humble and put off by all this crazy violent stuff is precisely what makes him such a perfect candidate for the Tenth boss. Who knows how long Reborn's been an Arcobaleno, but I'm willing to be that during that time, he's seen some things (perhaps even done some things) that have made him regret the path the Vongola family has taken, and I think he wants to see that change as much as Giotto does. But because he understands Tsuna so well, he also knows how stubborn he is, so he has to work and work at chipping that away little by little. And man, but I love to watch him at work.
PART TWO OF THREE! HANG IN THERE, EVERYONE.
Three favorite characters:
Gokudera - He has got to be the only shounen character I can think of who has actually successfully made the journey from angry tsundere buried under piles of emo baggage to a strong leader and main character who's actually overcome all of that angst and anger. It is fucking incredible, actually. If someone went from the Kokuyo Arc (or thereabouts) and skipped straight to the Inheritance Arc, I wonder what their reaction would be to seeing the drastic change in Gokudera's character, because I would personally be flabbergasted. Like, "WHO THE HELL IS THIS CONFIDENT AND RESPONSIBLE RIGHT HAND MAN AND WHAT HAS HE DONE WITH THE RECKLESS, AWKWARD, ANGRY KID FROM THE FIRST PART OF THE SERIES WHO KEPT GETTING HIMSELF ALL MAIMED UP AND LOSING ALL HIS FIGHTS?" Happily, I did not jump straight to the Inheritance Arc, and actually got to watch that transformation throughout the series, and man, this kid? Is my favorite forever. ♥
Yamamoto - NOW THAT GOKUDERA'S GOTTEN ALL THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT (ALL OF IT!), I feel like it can be Yama's time to shine! Except that Yamamoto is already a fully healthy character who is a badass and genuinely cheerful most of the time, and who trusts his friends and can be trusted in turn (in fact, being reliable is kind of his thing, rain guardian and all that), so given that he is already perfect, maybe we don't need further development after all! That said, you know I would never say know to some development in the opposite direction--giving him a bit more angst to work with every now and then. I do kind of have a serious weakness for Yamamoto angst, that rarest and most exotic of angsts. And he needs some backstory anyway. If we never get any I'm just going to go write fic about it instead, though.
Tsuna - Tsuna is just barely my number three character with Enma like maybe RIGHT behind, and only because we've had more time to watch Tsuna grow over the course of the series, and like Gokudera, it's truly astonishing to skip from the Daily Life arc to the present-day Tsuna. This boy is my favorite shounen lead character ever, and I've said this before, but it's actually more because of his character flaws than his strengths. Because he's such a realistic character, who doesn't want to save the world, and the only reason he does keep on doing so is because damn it, no one else is doing it and he keeps getting dragged into it because he is A GOOD PERSON and fuck, I guess someone's got to stand up and fucking do something. UNLIKE CERTAIN ANCESTORS WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED! Oh man. Anyway, yeah, reluctant superhero has always been one of my favorite character archetypes, and he just does it so damn well.
Three of my favorite moments:
I FEEL LIKE I HAVE ALREADY DONE ENOUGH ESSAYING IN THIS REPLY THAT I CAN CHEAT AND USE THE LIST FROM THIS POST TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION, SINCE THE TOP THREE HAVEN'T CHANGED.
The only scene/moment I might add to that list now is the moment in chapter 294 where Tsuna gets the call from Gokudera about Yamamoto getting attacked. This was just so well done, and absolutely gut-wrenching the way it shows how devastated both Tsuna and Gokudera are at the news. One of the things I love most is that we see Tsuna's reaction but we never see Gokudera's--but all the same, we can see it through Tsuna's end of the conversation. And then on this page, afterward, he says that Gokudera's voice was shaking, and it's just... wow. SUPER PUNCH TO THE GUT. I don't know if the manga's ever had as much impact on me before or since.
PART THREE OF THREE. WHAT SHUT UP MODE. XD
Three reasons I like/love that fandom:
1. THERE IS NO DRAMA. Or like, almost no drama. You don't see people attacking each other over which pairings they prefer, or which characters are the best, or whatnot. And even those few times when people do debate it, they're always reasonable and they make their case fairly and they almost never (that I've seen, anyway) put down the other person or imply that they're stupid for having a different point of view, etc. That is so rare in fandom, especially a fandom with a fairly young readership like KHR. The only conclusion I have ever been able to draw is that this fandom is magic!
2. FIC. I love the fic in this fandom. So many authors here that I love, and there is so much good stuff out there to read. And I've never enjoyed any fandom's fic challenges as much as I've enjoyed KHR's. Whenever a challenge like Undercover or KHRfest or Minibang comes along it's like Christmas, there is so much good stuff to read.
3. PEOPLE~ I've met so many awesome people in this fandom, I can't even begin to say. Everyone is super friendly and talented and have incredible senses of humor and are generally so amazing that if I keep going on I will sound like I'm describing my ideal partner for an online dating profile or something. Just. I love everyone, man. In all honesty, the people are the number one reason I've stuck around. ♥ ♥

ONE OF TWO
3 favorite relationships
1. Sanji and Zoro. This is another relationship that hits all my rivalfriendship pings. I love their crazy competitions and how they will never miss an opportunity for a put-down, and yet the instant shit goes down they are like THE team to be reckoned with. I love whenever they have a moment where they are casually standing with their hands in their pockets looking at whatever random bad guy is attacking today like, "Whatever, man. BRING IT." Also, Sanji's would-be sacrifice and Zoro's ACTUAL sacrifice at the end of Thriller Bark may or may not make it to my top three moments... we'll see once I get to that part of the meme.
2. Nami and Luffy. Nami is like the big sister Luffy never had but should have had but now he does so hooray! I love how she is one of the few people who can stop him from doing moronic things (not all the time, but sometimes), and he's kind of terrified of her for this reason, but also sneakily trying to avoid her wrath, and when he DOES get caught he SUFFERS GREATLY but then sometimes he doesn't and he's just laughing while she is all OH MY GOD LUFFY YOU IDIOT, and it just delights me endlessly. And of course, at the end of the day he is still her captain too, and the moment where he puts his hat on her head and then marches down to Arlong Park is in my top three favorite moments for sure, but more on that in a few!
3. Franky and Robin - I have no idea how or why they work, I just know that they do and it is awesome and they are like the only pairing in One Piece that I will actually defend to the death as canon (except not really because I am lazy, but I swear to God. CANON), and the Water 7 Arc is my favorite of all the OP arcs for many reasons, but these two are a good chunk of it.
3 favorite characters
WHY MUST I PICK BETWEEN MY CHILDREN oh god let me think a sec.
1. Sanji - Well, he's the only one I don't have to think about. I like him because he is a gruff tsundere who turns into a flailing idiot around the fairer sex, and because I love his fighting style, and because I love his backstory, and because he is also one of the smartest members of the crew, and I especially love that thing he does at least once per arc where he goes and disappears for a few chapters and then comes back having saved the day in some mysterious way that none of the others even thought about but he did because he is awesome like that! Like the whole Mr. Prince thing, or the end of the Enies Lobby arc when he opened the gate (or closed it?? I can't remember, but it was one of the two and it totally saved their asses). I can't wait to see what he does in the newest arc, because he was being such an epic moron during the first part that you know Oda must be planning on some sort of redemption so epic it will blow all our minds.
2. Nami - She was my favorite until Sanji came along, and she's still right up near the top of the list. She is also one of the smartest members of the crew (I do love me some smart Strawhats), and I adore her personality, and how she's not above using her smarts and wiles to get her way. But what I really adore about her is that she is one of the few female shounen characters I can think of (and most of the rest are also One Piece characters--OP really shines in this department) to have gotten an equal amount of screentime and character development as the male characters. Out of all the One Piece tragic backstories, hers is my favorite, and I'd still argue it's the most heartbreaking of the lot (although they are all tearjerkers, so it's a pretty tough call). And I really can't stress just how much I appreciate this. Nami is probably one of my favorite female characters in any series.
TWO OF TWO
3. Luffy - Sob I really could not decide which character to toss in here (Zoro, Usopp, and Franky were all heavy contenders), so I'll just go with the captain. What I love about Luffy, aside from his being a lovable shounen dumbass, is the way he looks at the world and grins and sees the possibilities, and decides what he wants and then just goes out and fucking gets it. Of all the characters in shounen I think he's the one with the most unshakable conviction. He's just unstoppable, and you can see why all of his crew members are drawn to that, his unyielding faith that they're all just going to go out and make their dreams come true, motherfucker, and just try and stop them. Like, does anyone actually believe that Luffy will NOT become the Pirate King? Has it ever even crossed anyone's mind for even a second? Not just because he's the hero in a shounen adventure series, but just because he's Luffy. Haha, and I just love that.
3 of my favorite moments
NOTE: Seeing as One Piece has 5 million chapters, there is a good chance that I may forget or skip a moment which may actually be a favorite of mine. I'm just listing the ones that come to mind right now.
1. The moment where Nami finally breaks down and asks Luffy to help her during Arlong Park, and Luffy puts the straw hat on her head (and I FUCKING CRY orz) and he's all "OF COURSE I WILL!!!!!" and then everyone goes marching off like the Big Damn Heroes they are. I love it because a) FUCKING NAKAMA and b) it's when Nami finally lets herself be vulnerable and realizes that she can't do this alone, and they're all just there for her because FUCKING NAKAMA, MAN.
2. The Going Merry's funeral. Never in my life did I think that the "death" of a ship would rank among the most emotional things I've ever read, but DAMN YOU, ONE PIECE. Really, I love it so much because Oda set it up stunningly well. This was a moment we were building up to since the fight between Luffy and Usopp at the start of Water 7, and the way Merry comes to save them all at the end of the arc, but then afterward it just can't go any further, and its last words to them ("I'm sorry, I wish I could have taken you guys a little further")... sob. When even the mangaka admits to crying while drawing a scene, you know it's good.
3. Luffy declaring war on the world government in Enies Lobby. This whole sequence--Robin's flashback, Luffy shouting at Robin for her to confess that she wants to stay with the Straw Hats, her finally doing so, and Usopp/Sogeking shooting the flag--is at once emotional and thrilling and fucking adrenaline-pumping. So well done. Oda at his best.
3 reasons I like/love that fandom
1. Like the KHR fandom, OP tends to be short on drama and big on fun.
2. Fic! The OP fandom has the best gen!fic. Something about the nakama themes of the series inspire people to write stuff that explores and celebrates those friendships, I guess.
3. I love that the fans embrace all of the characters. Everyone has their favorites, but almost none of the characters is really hated (in fact, I can't think of a single one). No one really gets bashed; EVERYONE LOVES EVERYONE. And I love that.
Off to see some fireworks, but I will do HS soon!

ONE OF TWO
3 favorite relationships
1. Miles and Julian (DS9) - I was going to paragraph on and on about this relationship--one of my favorite friendships in any series--but when I clicked to YouTube so I could link this video, I saw that some random commenter had already summed it up better than I ever could: "The greatest bromance in Star Trek history." Sorry, Kirk and Spock.
2. Kirk and Spock (Original Series) - Hey, second place isn't bad! XD And in all seriousness, you can't not love this friendship; it was the stuff legends are made of. They both brought out the best in each other in a way that only the very best of friendships manage. Love 'em.
3. Tom and B'Elanna (Voyager) - There is a very real chance that this may have been my first die-hard ship ever. I shipped the HELL out of these two. I will never forget when the third season rolled around and they really started pushing this relationship hard, and I was just so fucking into it. It is hilarious to think back on now. Every time the two of them were onscreen together I was like glued to the television, and when they finally got together I was the happiest fucking fangirl in the fucking world, man. I still love them to this day, but now when I think about them I also lol because it brings back memories.
- 3 favorite characters
1. Julian Bashir (DS9) - I wish I was in a more eloquent mood at the moment so I could more properly express what I really love about Julian. Atm I'm more in the kind of mood where it's just like "well, because he's AWESOME." But for anyone who's watched DS9 it's not really a mystery, is it? He's smart, funny, handsome, is played by Siddig El Fadil (♥), is young and brave and kind-hearted and idealistic, has ~SECRET ANGST~ which is only revealed in the later seasons and which makes for some of DS9's best storylines, and has epic relationships with like every single other member of the crew. If I'd really wanted to, I could have easily filled that first list with just Bashir relationships, and I would have left off at least half of my favorites. Basically, GO JULIAN ILU MMM YES.
2. Tom Paris (Voyager) - MY DUDE. He is so awesome. He's like Spike Spiegel if he were in Starfleet. Cool, cocky, casual, secretly LOYAL AS THE DICKENS, the best damned pilot you could have (hey, his words, not mine), and seeking to make a new man of himself and escape his paaaast. He's got more of a redemption thing going on than Spike did, though. And he does it much better, for that matter. He totally pulled a Gokudera--the Tom at the end of the series is hardly recognizable as the same character we first met in the pilot. He's a hero and a family man and oh man, I just love him so much.
3. Spock (Original Series) - Ok, yes, I have to put Spock here as well. I was never as into the original series as the rest of them, but Spock is just a fascinating character. Cool and logical on one side but secretly more emotional than anyone on the other. And he developed a beautiful balance between the two, and I think he is easily the baddest badass of anyone in the entire Star Trek canon. Like, yeah, the rest of y'all WISH you were Spock, but you're not, sorry. He is like the Gandalf of Star Trek. He is always right and smart and awesome. Except when he's not, but hey, even Gandalf made mistakes, so it's all good.
TWO OF TWO
1. First Contact (ST: First Contact) - First Contact is my favorite Trek film, and the end of it is just perfect and funny and gorgeous and perfect. The Vulcan ship landing while the humans watch in awe, the door to the ship opening and Cochrane stepping forward to meet the alien dude on the ramp, and the guy taking his hood off to reveal the OMG!POINTY!EARS!... man, I love it. It's such a perfect moment (especially with Goldsmith's score playing in the background)... and then we get the "live long and prosper" scene and Cochrane can't do the hand thing, and I crack up. XD This scene just sums up all the things I love about ST.
2. Spock's death (ST II: The Wrath of Khan) - Oh man, this will never not be gutwrenching to watch. Kirk realizing what Spock's done, William Shatner GIVING IT ALL HE'S GOT with the sad eyes (this is easily the best performance he ever gave), them putting their hands on the glass, Spock's immortal "I have been and always will be your friend"... come on, this secene is legendary.
3. The entirety of "Take Me Out to the Holodeck" (DS9) - AM I ALLOWED TO LIST AN ENTIRE EPISODE AS A "MOMENT" BECAUSE IF NOT OH WELL I TOTALLY AM ANYWAY. This episode is one of the greatest and best and most ridiculous things I have ever seen in Trek, and it is FUCKING EPIC. Here is a video of the highlights from the episode, which are basically any time Worf opes his mouth. "DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION." Actually, there's a good chance that the reason I like this episode so much is because it is so KHRish. This is really like DS9 Daily Life here. "FIND HIM AND KILL HIMMMM." Oh man.
3 reasons I like/love that fandom
1. It is so old school. Trek's been around forever, so the fandom is like, all ages. YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE. So you get such an eclectic mix of people, and that's always fun.
2. IT IS FULL OF NERDS. The nerdiest nerds ever! They know everything there is to know about everything in the canon, and while they're always getting made fun of for this reason, really, it's incredible. That is fucking dedication. Really hardcore Trek fans always make me feel like such a lame fan of anything in comparison, lol. I MEAN, MY GOD, PEOPLE SPEAK FUCKING KLINGON FOR FUCK'S SAKE. HOW FUCKING AWESOME IS IT THAT THAT IS A THING THAT PEOPLE REALLY DO.
3. It's so huge! You could spend your entire life just doing nothing but reading and watching and doing Star Trek fandom and you still probably wouldn't get to it all. THE FANDOM THAT NEVER ENDS. And that is exactly the way I like my fandoms. ♥

ONE OF TWO
1. Link and Navi - lol, I know that fandom's main opinion of Navi on the whole is "HEY LISTEN HEY LISTEN OMG SO ANNOYING" but I always adored her, and the end of Ocarina was pretty heartbreaking to me. They were such a good team! And she was the only one who knew what he went through, going back and forth in time and fighting every damn thing in Hyrule to save the world... I mean, yeah, Zelda certainly did her share of world-saving herself, but it was on a separate path from Link's. Navi, though... she was his Tinkerbell, man. ;_;
2. Link and Midna - REPEAT EVERYTHING SAID ABOVE, except Midna's relationship with Lunk had the additional layers of her seeking first revenge and then redemption, and slowly growing to trust and even rely on him. So sweet. And shit, their farewell scene was even worse than the above. XD
3. Link and Zelda - I like this really because of the whole fate/destiny thing. No matter what time or incarnation they're in, they always find each other. And I like that neither if them are capable of defeating Ganon alone, but together they can overcome him. Yaaaay epic. <3
3 favorite characters
1. Link - Hur hur I bet this is shocking! XD Actually, it is hard to explain exactly what is so appealing, given that he is a silent protagonist and you'd think it would be hard to get a feel for his personality... but it really isn't. He's a good, selfless person, driven to help and protect others, and he's daring and pretty fearless and occasionally mischievous, and also occasionally just the slightest bit derby. He is also very much topped by girls, and also bizarrely OCD when it comes to overgrown patches of grass! And the games communicate all of this solely through the reactions of other characters, and through the player's own experiences when playing the games, and that is a pretty incredible accomplishment.
2. Linebeck (Phantom Hourglass) - Sob he was such an epic wuss but also such an adventurer! And he had the heart of an entrepreneur. ;_; And at the end of the game he did come through, didn't he? So he was a pretty good guy after all. And i honestly don't think there's been a funner or funnier character in the series to this day.
3. Midna - I already explained most of my reasoning for having Midna as a favorite character in the relationship paragraph earlier. She was such a fascinating character, at first playful, mischievous and almost malevolent at times, but we started to catch a glimpse of another side of her with her interactions with Zelda, and eventually she came to regard Link in the same way. And of course, learning her true identity was pretty epic, and I have to say, to date there has not been a hotter character in this series than true!form!Midna.
TWO OF TWO
1. Link pulling the sword from the pedestal for the first time in Ocarina. This was set up so well, right after that encounter with Ganondorf while your heart is still pumping, and the music is beautiful, and damn, I am really overusing the word "epic" in this meme, but goddammit IT WAS FUCKING EPIC OKAY.
2. Can I list the entire prelude to the Shadow Temple as a "moment"? XD It was just really well done, from the scene where Link arrives in Kakariko and gets his ass kicked by the thing that emerges from the well, to him going back and playing the Song of Storms, to the exploration of the well (which is still the absolute fucking creepiest dungeon in this or any other game I've played), to him opening the door to the temple using Din's Fire. Probably my favorite section of the game. Except maybe the Spirit Temple. XD Ok, I just love Ocarina way too much.
3. The scene in Twilight Princess where Colin gets kidnapped protecting the other kids, and Link goes on an epic horseback chase to rescue him, culminating in that showdown on the bridge. That entire sequence is basically like being the main character in the most amazing action movie ever made. SO MUCH FUN, and the cinematic sequences are perfectly done.
3 reasons I like/love that fandom
1. Zelda is the only series I can think of where people will buy a brand new console just to play the games. Zelda fans are fucking loyal as hell.
2. This is by necessity a very patient fandom, and it's fun getting excited with everyone whenever Miyamoto reveals a juicy new morsel. Can't wait for Skyward Sword. :D
3. The memes and in-jokes. There are so many great ones, and it makes my day on those awesome occasions when I see someone who's got the "new item" theme as his messaging tone, or someone makes fun of how many pots Link is always breaking, etc. Heh.
