1. Did Giotto really go around wearing a big cape with "VONGOLE FIRST" printed in giant letters on it? Because if he did, that explains so, so much about the Vongola family and its legacy of fabulousness that has been passed down from generation to generation. |D

2. "There is a song that has been etched in my memory since the day I was born..." What? Seriously? Are we doing ancient prophecies in this manga now, seriously?

...Prophecies that need to be explained via complex charts and graphs, even. o_o Damn. You know, every so often I have to remind myself that this started out as a manga where an infant hitman routinely shot a teenage boy in the head so that he could fight people in his underwear. Just to put things in perspective, and to remember that as strange as this may seem, this series has always been this bizarre and at this point I should really stop being surprised.

So okay, Tsuna's brain can apparently travel through time or something. WHATEVER.

3. I like how Byakuran is all like, "No, that can't possibly be right because only I am special." Oh Byakuran. And Yama and Dera's reactions to the whole "shackles" thing also cracked me up, because you can totally tell they're thinking, "OMG WHAT IS HE GONNA POWER UP AGAIN HOLY SHIT OUR BOSS IS SO DAMN COOL!" Fanboys.

4. ...omg what. *_* Somehow, what with all the glove upgrades Tsuna's gotten over the years, it never occurred to me that a ring upgrade might be possible too! Which it should have, because this is SO SHOUNEN it's not even funny.

--AHHH WHAT OMG AND THEY'RE ALL GETTING UPGRADES, AHHHH AHHH AHHHHH.

OH MY GOD LOOK AT THE PRETTIES. *_* I just spent three pages in a row bouncing up and down in my seat like a little kid. The only downside to this that I can possibly see is that now I'm going to have to buy a whole new set of rings now. DAMN THIS CLEVER MARKETING.

5. "Decimo. Kick his ass for me, okay?" That's totally how I read that. What with his hand on Tsuna's shoulder and everything. Heh, I love Primo. BRING ON THAT ANIME ARC.

6. I can almost understand how Byakuran still wouldn't be worried in spite of the fact that the main character just got a huge kick-ass shounen upgrade right before his eyes, because even if he doesn't have a Millefiore Primo that can magically show up at the perfect time and make his Mare Ring shinier, he can still do this. If I could turn into a Jersey Devil dragon-hand freak, I'd be pretty confident too.

7. NUTS IS STILL ALIVE! I AM FILLED WITH RELIEF. Okay, moving on.

8. Wait, when did Nuts turn into the Sistema C.A.I.? And when did Tsuna learn Rasengan? That was some upgrade.

9. And now they're actually comparing power levels using percentages. XD Man, this chapter started out so awesomely and then turned into such a cliched DBZ fight-fest show-offy superhero thing. I mean, it's not that I don't like the shiny new rings or seeing Byakuran get his ass kicked; far from it. Far, far, far from it. It's just that this fight is completely old hat shounen now, and I really was hoping for something less predictable.

And maybe slightly more coherent, because did Byakuran's head just explode there, or what? XD All of a sudden violence just started happening and I don't even know what's going on anymore. THINGS ARE GETTING PUNCHED, WINGS ARE GETTING TORN OFF, THIS IS A THROWDOWN.

10. "You... you made me bleed my old blood!" Okay, lol. It's still cliched as fuck, but hey, if that's how we're doing this, I guess that's how we're doing this. And hey, if we are going old school, maybe next chapter we'll get some fanservice too.

I have some feeling that Amano's goal is to fit every used plot line ever in this series before it's over.
LOL I love when we get charts to explain shit. And that she wasted a panel telling us what vongola, mare and arcobaleno mean when I'm sure everyone googled it by now.
At least we know now why it was so damn important to be at that specific time and in that specific parallel universe.

4- TRICKED OUT RINGS. Only in Reborn.
They're all so cool and big and extreme and shiny and pretty and fabulous and pointy. PERFECT FOR EVERYONE! 8D

5- I'm loving Giotto more and more. And something is making me think that there's some sort of ~family rivalry~ going on. Or maybe I'm over thinking things again.

8- I'm wondering when the hell he got the time to come up with upgraded weapons names. Well it's entertaining, I'll give it that XDD

9- One chapter he's giving a cheesy "Thanks for everything guys!" speech and the next he's ripping people wings off. WTF TSUNA.
And no matter how hard I try to understand what the hell is happening on page 15 I'm not seeing it. It looks like the wings are getting pulled out of his head o.o;

10- It...kinda reminds me of Bel. Lol, it's pretty bad when you're characters are repeating each other. What's worse is that it's so expected that Amano didn't even bother to give "Wh-what's with this guy!?" reaction panels (Gosh I hope I didn't jinx it for next week). "What am I so happy about you ask...?" Uhh, we DIDN'T actually, we kinda figured already. LOL.

Well, this chapter answered a lot of questions for me, so I'm happy.

Aside from DBZ, YuYu Hakusho also did that "I am only using so-much-percent of my power!" thing.

What makes me happy about KHR is that this once again is so cliche and deus ex machina...and I DON'T CARE! It was executed well enough that I cared, that I was happy that good prevailed and evil is taken down.

What both worries me and makes me excited is this: new rings means more adventures and a tougher baddie after a few more chapters and probably several daily-life break chapters. I don't know if Amano-san can sustain another arc like the Future arc.

lmfao this series became ridiculous all over again. I'm not sure if I mean that in a good or bad way, though XD

7. YAY FOR NUTS! (and this is where I'm supposed to giggle like a ten-year-old). Everytime I read Tsuna saying "NUTS", I always somehow think he screwed up and think "Aww, nuts!" BUT YEAH I'M GLAD HE'S ALIVE, TOO.

8. LOL RASENGAN. At some point, most shounen manga are going to somehow clash in some way.

9. I still totally love how Tsuna had to throw his one-up in there, though hahaha. But, yeah...totally went DBZ there.

~~OF COURSE YOU'RE GOING TO BLEED YOUR OWN BLOOD. WHO ELSE'S BLOOD WOULD YOU BLEED, BYAKURAN?~~ Okay, I read 'old' as 'own' /facepalms. It does look like his head or neck is exploding, though.

10. I am totally for fanservice!

And it's true, he's totally gushing fountains of blood and seems happy as a clam and ready for round 2. I mean, we're not quite at One Piece or Bleach levels of epic blood loss here yet, but damn.

Haha, yeah, that came out of nowhere and was complete and utter nonsense. XD Definitely not up to the usual KHR standard of explanations that are completely ridiculous but yet somehow almost make sense. If it was going to be like that, I'd almost rather have seen Amano make one of the characters say something along the lines of, "Come on, guys, I know this shit is ridiculous but if the first generation Vongola boss and guardians are going to pop out of our rings and give us powerups, WHO THE FUCK EVEN CARES HOW OR WHY IT'S HAPPENING?" Seriously, this is one case where lampshading would have been acceptable, or at least preferred to, "No, it totally makes sense because there's this old bullshit rhyme that explains that the Vongola like to time travel at random."

But whatever, I can never stay annoyed at this manga for long, even though this chapter was totally pushing it for me. XD I mean, Byakuran got his ass kicked and his head exploded and his wing scars started gushing blood; I really can't complain. XD

YOU KNOW THAT'S WHAT HE WAS ACTUALLY SAYING.

Haha, yeah. I love that such a complex explanation was given when really it was one of those things that would have made absolutely no sense no matter what (meaning Amano could have used much less effort and it would still have ended up being equally ridiculous). XD But I'm always up for crazy charts and graphs.

I REALLY REALLY WANT TO SEE BYAKURAN FIGHT TSUNA 2.0 WHILE GUSHING BLOOD EVERY WHICH WAY. The last page of this chapter promised epic things to come. *_*

I fully expect to not only see Byakuran fighting in the next chapter as though absolutely nothing had happened, but for him to do so while all the while still gushing blood out of his multiple wounds like a Tarantino movie. If this does not happen, I will be extremely disappointed.

2. If she can manage that, it will go down in history as the greatest achievement in the history of mankind, and I for one will hail KHR as the greatest literary work of our time. REACH FOR THE STARS, AMANO, I BELIEVE IN YOUUUUU.

I can't help but wonder if Amano has ever regretted giving Tsuna's family a name that basically translates into "clam." If she'd known from the start things were going to get this epic down the line, I think she might have thought that through a little more. XD And yeah, I suppose the explanation did help to clarify a few things, though it still almost felt like it was half made up on the spot to me.

4. I so cannot wait to see the guardians' new rings in action. If Tsuna's this powered up, I'm getting giddy just picturing Yamamoto and Gokudera and the rest. *_*

5. LOL. To me it read less as a "pride of the Vongola family" thing and more just as an "everyone really hates Byakuran" thing. XDD

8. That's another Vongola ability that's been passed down through the generations. He can come up with new attack names instantaneously.

But if you think about it, is that not the very essence of shounen right there? And I've tried my hardest to analyze that page and am still falling short, sob. I have no frigging idea.

10. Yeah, the whole "OMG WAO MY OWN BLOOD THAT KINDA TURNS ME ON" thing. It seems to be a common reaction among the very craziest villains; I guess I should have expected it would be like that with Byakuran. I wouldn't be surprised if we still got reaction panels next week, though. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR A REACTION PANEL!

What is with Amano and writing villains that grow stronger (more psychotic) at the sight of their own blood? xD

Yeah, that's almost Shounen 101 now. Sigh.

I actually was a little annoyed, ring upgrades (which are AWESOME) aside, but after reading everyone else's thoughts and responses, I think I've come around a little. Either that or I just can't stay mad at KHR. XD But either way, this chapter was shounen done right, if very by the book.

Heh, for my part I'm excited. \o/ I don't mind admitting that I wasn't quite ready for the manga to end yet, and this pretty much guarantees plenty of good stuff to come after this arc. For better or worse (though I agree that if we get another hugely epic arc right on the heels of this one, Amano will be hard-pressed to pull it off).

It mostly remains to be seen, I think, though even if the rest of this arc ends up becoming some hugely clichéd thing, I'm still excited that new rings = new arc after this one ends, for certain. BRING ON SOME NEW ADVENTURES.

7. I WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE HIM AGAIN, in weapon form or not. XD And I still giggle at his name too, but in this case I was too relieved to take much notice.

8 & 9. Yeah, I'd have been amazed if some of the better-known shounen manga clichés didn't end up working their way into KHR, honestly. At least it was amusing.

It totally looks like his sparkly fireworks wings have been replaced by gushing blood fountain wings. XD THIS IS SHOUNEN, WE SCOFF AT SUCH NARROW-MINDED CONCEPTS AS "REALISTIC BLOOD LOSS."

10. Fanservice would be A+ acceptable. Bring it on!

Haha, I think it's some unwritten rule that all of the most psychotic villains have to have some secret crazy blood fetish that makes battles even more interesting/disturbing when the good guy finally manages to hurt them. XD

So many things about this chapter made me bounce in my seat like a giddy child.

Truly, this series has eaten my soul.

That said, Byakuran is going down. Soon. I hope. /hopes in vain, for there will likely be chapters of battles to go

I just hope we'll get to see the other rings in action, because if Gokudera and the rest of the guardians are half as powered-up as Tsuna now is, I don't know if I'll be able to stop myself from like. Exploding out of joy or something. XD

Well, yeah. Byakuran has this way of looking silly while doing almost anything, the same way that he can also look sinister while doing just about anything. It's an extremely bizarre trait that I really feel ought to be studied.

Seriously the only person who could get badder and scarier than Byakuran is currently Mukuro, unless Amano dreams up somebody else. But Mukuro is the Saitou of this series (the guy everyone is scared of but still considers an ally; by this comparison Hibari is Aoshi, the aloof ally), so I don't think he'll be the next villain after Byakuran, no matter how he threatens to take over the world. Unless I'm guessing wrong.

It is a rather interesting phenomenon. XD

The only thing I'm kind of missing in this chapter is a good panel to colour. XP

I'm pretty sure Mukuro's turned away from the dark side for good in spite of his talk, but it doesn't change the fact that if he did go bad again, it would be amazing. *_* But I dunno, if Amano can dream up someone like Byakuran, I'm sure she could come up with someone worse. Part of me really wants the next arc's villain to be someone with a past history with one of the guardians, like maybe Yamamoto's mother or Gokudera's father; I think something like that would be really cool. ~~Also I just love angst.~~

It contradicts itself, and yet works effectively; I find it fascinating. *_*

Yeah, I guess this chapter was kind of short on "color me!!" panels, except maybe that one of Primo egging Tsuna on ("KICK HIS ASS, SON. KICK HIS ASS"). Mostly it was a lot of action and blood spurting and pretty new jewelry. XD

You should write something about this contradiction. XD

Well, yeah, that one was a bit tempting, but other than that? Not so much. And that makes me a sad panda.

2- Knowing what Amano's managed before, I think she could do it. It'd still be amazing though, of course *ROOTS HER ON*

It does feel a bit rushed and not like that "Oh that makes sense!" explanation we usually get, that's true.

Well, as I understand it, Tunaman grabs Dickman by the wings, makes a 360 degree spin in the air and slams the heel of his foot into Dickman's head with such force that Dickman crashes down to the ground... while Tunaman is still holding on to his wings. *nod*

I have seen it! And boy am I hoping that it's not just the colourtheme of the cover in general that makes his hair seem dark. I'M HOPING.
