I think the main reason companies have been hesitant to pick it up is because it's kind of tricky to market thanks to the Daily Life Arc. The first twenty or so episodes are totally different from the rest of the series, and it's probably difficult to figure out how to get a steady audience for that and then keep that audience once the pace picks up. But it's not like they can just skip the first few episodes either (there would be a huge fan uproar if they did that), so I don't know. It is kind of a problem; I can sympathize with them.
