1. Oh God most epic reaction panel page ever. There are, count them, 21 different reaction shots, and every single one of them is trauma-faced. ALL OF THEM. Even Mukuro, Xanxus, Squalo, and Hibari look horrified. EVEN BYAKURAN, though obviously for different reasons. I've never seen so many characters express exactly what I was feeling (well, what I was feeling at the end of the last chapter, anyway) in my life.

This page also rather painfully highlights the similarities in a few of Amano's character designs, because, uh. For a good thirty seconds there, I stared and stared but could not be quite sure exactly which character was Gokudera. XD I'M STILL NOT QUITE SURE...?? Is that him or is it Basil? GD AMANO. Way to make me feel like a terrible fangirl. XD


2. Oh sweet Jesus Byakuran is speaking sentences that don't end in musical notes. Something terrible is about to happen, isn't it?

And even Tsuna is starting to scare the shit out of me. Wow, Uni, you were the only thing preventing everyone from going completely insane. She's gone less than six pages, and already Tsuna's finally gone Super Saiyan. HE WON'T FORGIVE YOU, BYAKURAN. Stop and think about that for a sec. There is someone that even Tsuna will not forgive. I think Hell must be gearing up for its own Winter Olympics.


3. I admit I am finding this chapter kind of hard to snark about so far, partly because I'm a bit under the weather, but mostly because I am starting to have some painful flashbacks of Naruto and Bleach's talkiest boss battles, and I am really starting to get bored. XD Only now do I realize how much those little musical notes were actually appreciated. Byakuran, stop being a parody of a villain.


4. ...seriously, wtf. XD

WHERE DID THIS RANT EVEN COME FROM. SUDDENLY BYAKURAN IS FURIOUS WITH THE UGLINESS OF THE HUMAN CONDITION. AND "ROOTS" ARE POPPING OUT OF HIS LEGS. WTF WTF WTF. And yeah, Tsuna, how dare you like Uni as a person as opposed to a powerful device, you bastard.


5. I feel like this chapter is trying to beat me over the head with itself. XD SO... MUCH... SHOUNEN. SENSES... OVERLOADING. KEEP SHOUTING, EVERYONE, SHOUTING IS THE ANSWER TO ALL OF LIFE'S PROBLEMS. Seriously, it's true. Manga wouldn't lie to me.


6. LOOK, SEE, THE SHOUTING MAKES THE EXPLOSIONS EVEN MORE POWERFUL!!!!

7. ARE YOU FEELING ADRENALATED YET???!!!


8. Wait, what. Right when I was on the verge of making a joke about "just look at all the special effects in this chapter, clearly Amano is trying to get nominated for Best Picture", suddenly there is a Byakuran flashback? *_* I'D ALL BUT LOST HOPE.


9. A flashback with freaking Cervello, even. :O OH, CERVELLO, YOU'RE SO MYSTERIOUS. Coordinating the plot from behind the scenes like this, oh you guys. Who the fuck are you. <3

Also, two things of interest: One, while it remains to be seen if the Vongola ring is what enables Tsuna's brand-new time-traveling powers or if the power was inside him all along!, we now have confirmation that the Mare ring has nothing to do with Byakuran's world-jumping abilities. And two, said abilities clearly have fucked with him and caused his radically detached and dickish view of the world: "I realized that I'm merely a 'conscience' programmed into a game." I mean, it was more or less already clear that his wacky superpowers are what caused his villainy, but it's still awesome to see it confirmed. Oh Byakuran, I'm glad we finally got a tiny peek into your quirky and disturbing thought processes.


10. ...right before you kicked the bucket.

After all of the buildup, after 140 chapters--literally half of the entire manga--and after the incredibly moving sacrifice of Uni and Gamma to revive the Arcobabies, this is how Byakuran is finally defeated? WITH A GODDAMN X BURNER?

KHR, I love you, baby, so I am just going to bite my tongue and wait for the next chapter, because there are SO MANY THINGS that I could say right now, but I feel like I at least owe you a chance to explain yourself first. BUT IF YOU DON'T, we are going to have words. Angry, bitter words stewed in disappointment and the tears of children.



THIS CHAPTER. Seriously. Sigh.

I dunno, I actually liked this chapter. Then again I don't have the same criteria for KHR as I have for, say, any of Naoki Urasawa's work. (VERY cerebral stuff, great artwork, great characters, great drama. Major titles are Pluto, Monster, and 20th Century Boys)

That said, I still hope this doesn't turn into the plot Psyren is already using (we know about the future, we have to fix the past...past fixed...why does future now like THIS?!...we have to re-fix past...)

I was pretty underwhelmed by this. :( Byakuran, what gives? You can't flashback right before your anticlimactic defeat.

...though honestly I'm just going to be so happy to see this arc go that I almost don't care how it goes. Enough is enough! I've been checking my watch waiting for Byakuran to buy the farm & all this nonsense to see itself through for, um. Many, many months. Pick up the pace, KHR.

Pile of reaction shots was great, though you're right about Gokudera. Aaand...I loved Mukuro's the best. Because he looks somewhat alarmed, but it' very subtle & Mukuro-ish, so it sort of looks like either he's sorry about Uni & Gamma's sacrifice or he locked his keys in his car.

2. And I just LOVE how Byakuran is blaming Tsuna for the death of Uni.(Because Byakuran destroying all the known universes had nothing to do with it...) Can you say "denial"?

4. Yep, Tsuna is just pissed because Byakuran cock-blocked him, that's all. His anger had absolutely nothing to with the death of Uni AND GAMMA! (Everyone seems to have forgotten that he died too. I think it's because he isn't a cute little girl.) Can you say "lolicon"?

9. Who the hell are these women?!?! They keep poppin' up EVERYWHERE! I first started having doubts about them at the end of the Sky Battle when Xanxus asked if they where happy that he lost since it all went according to their plan(chapter 135). And who has the third sky ring? At first I thought they were talking about the Arcobaleno, but they use pacifiers right? OMG! MAYBE IT'S LONGCHAMP! (hahaha) And why the hell are they dressed as NUNS of all things? My questions are ENDLESS!

10. Byakuran better not have died so easily. And that's all I have to say about THAT.

My favorite thing about this chapter was all the facial expressions. Mostly the crazy derpy Byakuran ones lol.

This chapter felt kind of ... not as exciting? It took a while for me to realize that Byakuran was kind of, you know, dead, probably. I am more intrigued by the Cervello than I ever have been before. Where do they come from?! Why is there an endless supply of them?! WHY DO THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME???!

I eagerly await the next chapter.

I loved the little Byakuran flashback. :D "I may be completely unable to care for other people in any way, shape, or form, but I can at least throw myself entirely into having fun. That makes it okay, right? Right, guys?" Ahaha I almost wanted to give him a hug and take him home and feed him cake for a moment, but then I remembered he'd just kill me for the lulz. Because Byakuran is still Byakuran.

All in all, I guess this chapter was kind of 'eh', made up for by the fact that BYAKURAN IS FINALLY DEAD, THE FIGHT'S OVER, WE CAN ALL GO HOME NOW YAY.

...At least I'm pretty sure. I think she put Hibari and Xanxus next to each other just to freak with us.

Everything before 8- It was so hard to take this chapter seriously at first. What the hell was going on seriously. I kinda want another translation because sense was not made here.

8 & 9- The flashback was...better than the rest of the chapter. And looking back at it I think of it as something like this:
Byakuran was a normal guy who was bored with the world or something, wondering why no one else seemed to be. Then the whole thing with present!Irie happens and he gets his ~*~powers~*~. Then two pink haired ladies tell him that there's a ~*~*special ring*~*~ that only he can use and he becomes his own biggest fan, deciding that, "Hey! If I have the power to do this shit why don't I have FUN with it?" So he decided to take over the world. I'm also guessing that he's never loved anyone before or doesn't understand it or something.

ALSO, about the Cervello, this is the second time they've show up at the end of an arc saying something to the villain. Curious....

About your 2 points, it'd be interesting if Tsuna does have generation jumping powers naturally (maybe that's where his and Giotto's hair similarities come from?). And I think the situation with Byakuran's more that it's his powers that let him use the Mare ring, so yeah, not the other way around. And the world jumping thing probably freaked with his view on everything because just one parallel world was so small compared to all of them, therefore one life was not important at all, not even thousands, etc.

...This comment is getting ranty.

10- *SAD*. This end was so wrong to me. The only good thing is that he made his ^_^ face in the end but. lksdhsjgsffs. I was prepared for the X-Burner ending because...I figured. (And to be fair it was an X-Burner powered by the shiny new ring and his resolve of "AVENGE UNIIIIIII"?) But it was so FAST and....I'm kinda mad at how it's being taken. Did Tsuna just really KILL him? Not that the guy didn't deserve it but um. Mukuro kinda deserved it. Maybe even Xanxus. So what's up with that? I just don't think that's very fair =/ Or okay for Tsuna to be doing considering he's TSUNA. And I mean come on, Kyoko and Haru are watching. It's one thing to see someone be killed in front of you, it's another to see your friend kill someone. Hell, even Goku and Yama and Ryohei should be taken aback. (At least in my opinion o.o; )

I dunno...I had mixed feelings about this chapter. For the most part I was reminded about how much I disliked Byakuran as a villain in general. I thought he was pretty weak character wise. It was pretty weird when he started to talk about how much he disliked humanity and stuff especially since we never really got to hear it all before.

I liked the abrupt end with the X-Burner. It's so simple and quick. Now we can move onto the next arc XD

My reaction to the end of the chapter was this: "So wait.... did Tsuna actually kill someone??????"

The first page had me confused, too, with all the faces. And then she left out Fuuta? Because there's a panel of him separately later - or am I just seeing things now because they all look the same?

The finishing off Byakuran with an X Burner of all things made me laugh. "Only the Guardians from the past have the ability to defeat him!" Seems to me TYL Tsuna just got really lazy and wanted to harass his younger self.

I don't even remember reading this chapter...then I read this and remembered the crajee Byakuran flashback and was like...oh, so it's supposed to be ridiculous IT'S REALLY SUPPOSED TO BE RIDICULOUS BYAKURAN YOU JUST SAID THE PLOT OF THIS ENTIRE ARC IS RIDICULOUS. Oh.

And then wtf at Tsuna defeating him with just his x-burner...maybe all the "wtf Byakuran" WAS supposed to be the build up...? But we were too busy going '???' to treat it like an actual build up. Or something @_@ And what did Primo do anyways, WHAT CHAINS!? WAS IT THE PART WHEN TSUNA BECAME ALL BADASS ALL OF A SUDDEN? What the shit...
And I have to say I liked the joint sacrifice panel but was that really necessary? Did Gamma just die for the sake of dying? Or are they going to be revived and everything? When they go back to the past will they be there? Or. What. sdglkdsahglskdahg. I will also await the next chapter like :|

Man, I had serious trouble finding Gokudera in the trauma face panel. Then I realized that the girl Xanxus and Ryohei was not really a girl. Not to mention that Kyouko looks more like a boy than Gokudera does. WAT.

See, having Byakuran taken out by a bloody X burner makes me wish for the bad ending again, even if I did like the Vongola Ring upgrade TM. WTF, Amano?! How could you go from dramatic and tragic death to the STUPIDEST WAY POSSIBLE for the main villain to kick the bucket? HOW?!
