TAKE MY HEAAAART

1. This cover text reminds me of the film A Little Princess (I say the film because I never read the book, whoops XD), specifically this song from the soundtrack. Which means that congratulations, Tsuna and Giotto, I can't take you seriously no matter how cool you are trying to look with your "heeeeey get a load of our cool rings/gloves" poses. Because while I'm watching you doing this, in my head I'm going, Take my heaaaaaaart, take my heaaaaaart, kindle it wiiiiiith yoooourrr heaaaaaart, and... yeah.
ETA: It has been pointed out to me that "Giotto" is in fact HDW!Tsuna, which is quite obvious in retrospect, so you may all proceed to point and laugh. I thought he was looking a little vertically challenged there.
2. Anyway, Tsuna and co. kick off the chapter by screaming the obvious (in Gokudera's case, screaming it at his crotch), but for once they have an excuse, since at least one member of the present company actually is blind. Talbot announces that the new items are called the Vongola Gear, which makes me a little sad because considering that this is KHR, I figured we had a real fighting chance of them actually being called the Vongola Bling. :( WOE.
More importantly, Talbot notes that the new gear is designed specifically for them, which makes me lol when I think about what's going to happen years down the road when it's time to pass them on to the next generation. HAHA, SCREW YOU, FUTURE LEADERS OF TOMORROW.
3. Talbot offhandedly mentions that Hibari is over in the next room, only he refers to him as "that kid with the murderous aura", which is hilarious to me because none of the other guardians needs any further description to know beyond a doubt exactly who Talbot is talking about. It's like, "murderous aura? Oh, it's Hibari." And then for some reason they're all like, "HEY LET'S GO CHECK IT OUT", but since they must already know that his success was a given, I can only assume that what they really wanted to do was just show off their new gear and then determine whose was the coolest.
Anyway, Hibari no doubt anticipated this since he has already fled the coop. Whether or not he did so out of embarrassment remains to be seen.
4. Anyway, then Ganauche runs in and announces that for once the Nonos have actually done something useful, which, wow. I think I need to sit down for a moment. You know, to process this and all.
So apparently Vongola Primo hid his love letters (or maybe they weren't actually love letters, but you can't blame me for being confused since they no doubt used the official pink Vongola stationery) to Shimon Primo in a safe place and fortunately they were not destroyed along with the other records. Ganauche (who's looking incredibly hot if I might add) goes on to explain that the Shimon base is located on a secret uninhabited island not too far from Japan, which I'm pretty sure is also the exact same location where Choice took place. But I guess I can't blame Amano for taking more time to design the new Vongola bling than to come up with original locations for boss battles with supervillains.
5. Tsuna wisely requests that the Ninth and his guardians stay as far away from the final battle as possible, but all joking aside, I have to confess that for a moment there I actually had to blink and reread this page and marvel at the fact that yes, this is the same Tsuna who has previously lamented again and again over the fact that it always has to be him who cleans up all of Vongola's messes. The very same. And now here he is, actually asking the rest of them to stay out of it and let him fight alone. Tsuna. Wants to fight. For the sake of his friends.
Holy shit, Reborn, what have you done. You actually made a boss out of this kid. You actually fucking did it. You crazy son of a bitch, I am in complete awe of you right now.
6. Tsuna continues to analyze his enemies' feelings LIKE A BOSS and argue with Squalo LIKE A BOSS until all of a sudden the Ninth stands up and is all "I'M STILL IN CHARGE AND YOU ALL HAVE TO FOLLOW MY ORDERS DAMN IT!!!" Everyone then proceeds to stand around making ._. faces until Timoteo decides to honor Tsuna's request, at which point their faces change to a mix of over-the-top >8| and :D reactions. All except for Ryohei, who settles on a decidedly more subtle reaction, because Serious Ryohei is still in the house, ladies and gents. Also we may possibly be in the Twilight Zone.
The Ninth then amends the Shimon family's guest list to include Reborn, just in case we hadn't all assumed that was a given (but I'm sure we had). However, he forbids Reborn to fight, because if he didn't do that, well, then he wouldn't be the Ninth, now would he?
By the way, I didn't realize Dino was at this meeting until he got a close-up on this page, at which point I became very amused because really, it's reached the point where they should just rename the Cavallone family "Vongola Jr" or something. It's not like they even bother to differentiate between him and their own guys anymore.
Hibari stalking the meeting from the window outside also made me lol.
7. SOMEONE FINALLY REMEMBERED THAT LAMBO EXISTS, . Apparently Tsuna hasn't gotten over the thrill of yelling at people who could easily kill him yet, because he keeps arguing that Lambo can't fight because he's JUST A KID!! until Reborn finally gets fed up and gives him a beautiful kick that temporarily rearranges his face. Gokudera makes hilarious background expressions while the Ninth stands back and muses nostalgically on it all.
8. So once everyone's back outside the Vongola castle they start to calm down a bit and revert back to their natural gay family state (was that the difference between him and Enma? His family's level of gayness?), and Tsuna bids the others farewell and then immediately runs smack into his family's het just to spite me and my stupid comments.
...THEN AGAIN. MAYBE NOT SO HET AFTER ALL. Huh.
And it took all of one page to remind me that I have really missed Kyoko and Haru and I hope this isn't the last we'll be seeing of them in this arc. :|
9. However, Amano almost makes up for it with this page because OH MY GOD SHOUUUUUUU. *_____* SOMEONE ELSE I HAVE MISSED MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY. As soon as I can find a place to do so without attracting weird and/or concerned glances, I am going to go prance around a bit.
10. AND LOOK WHAT HE SENT! SHINY NEW TOYS AND A PICTURE OF TYE!SPANNER LOOKING LIKE HE REPRESENTS THE LOLLIPOP GUILD. And who, incredibly, seems to have built these things in less than a week, and seems to be in the midst of hatching out some Disney Channel-esque scheme with Shouichi in order to go visit Japan while his parents no doubt believe he is sleeping over at a friend's house. Is it possible that TYE!Spanner is even more badass than his TYL!counterpart? All signs point to yes.
So once again, Amano manages to get a bye for the week despite the fact that there is STILL NO SIGN OF YAMAMOTO, DAMN IT. SURELY NEXT WEEK WE WILL GET AN UPDATE. RIGHT? SURELY THIS CANNOT CONTINUE INDEFINITELY? Sob.
Also, many happy returns,

Sorry, pretty sensitive to the art of my favourite character. He has to look good in order for my to enjoy the story. If Hibari can look that good in almost every frame, I don't see why Tsuna has to look that ugly.
Ok probably bcus Tsuna is dame Tsuna after all and the art has to emphasize that point. But precisely bcus Tsuna is so utterly dame, he doesn't have much redeeming factors (aka coolness) left. If the art fails him too, Tsuna might as well engage in character suicide. An terrible looking character does not look awesome regardless of how much bling/formal attire he dons on [c.f. first page].
Well from this, you should be able to deduce that I am darn particular on character art (hell, I would be baying for blood if the face is a lil fatter than usual etc) ...
and plot development (lol)
I know I have been harping on shitty plot development for the past god knows how many entries now but I really have to get it off my chest every damn week, esp when the plot IS going to the fail! route if it is not rectified quickly!
I feel like I am watching a typical adventure film - only this time, the arc plunges straight into the climax without proper introduction and buildup. In this chappie, we see the Shimon's base, like any typical villian base, located on some radar-detection defying island in the middle of Pacific freaking ocean (it is always Pacific Ocean ...). Oh and the epic fight between Tsuna and Enma is already in the works.
Isn't the climax surfacing too early into the inheritence arc? hmmmm, maybe the real climax of this arc is Shimon + Vongola VS Byakuran????!!! In that case, Vongola VS Shimon is probably a minor buildup (a horrible one at that) to a major plot twist.
As for Tsuna going all pumped up about, "Lemme fight alone! I'll fight IN THE NAME OF FRIENDSHIP!" (typical shonen line), I was initially going, "not the friendshit again". But as you too would have noticed, I am pretty fickle KHR fan. After reading the comments, I'll admit that Tsuna is certainly making some progress - he is no longer denying any involvement in the Mafia! Banzai!
But! He is still not boss-like enough. Not at all actually. Boss-mode = Tsuna standing all regal and announce with coolness oozing out from every pore that he will fight the Shimons together with his guardians and no one should butt in.
Something like this:
(Apparently I can't post the link to the TYL arc pic cus onemanga is no longer avaliable and i spent another 20 min trying to find that damn pic at other sites to no avail)
But basically, what I am trying to imply is that he has been in wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cooler boss-mode b4. Is he experience a regression?

But then, I adore Dame Tsuna, so you already know I'm biased in that respect. :P I WANT HIM TO STAY LIKE THIS FOREVERRRR even though I know he's going to grow up one day and become full-time awesome
and just like every other shounen protagonist in existence, sob.THE PLOT IS TOTALLY CLICHE AT THIS POINT, I AGREE. And I also agree that it seems like the climax of this arc is approaching too quickly (it's been less than twenty chapters and it already seems like we've reached the halfway point here; you gotta admit that is weird). I'm definitely anticipating a major plot twist coming up; my guess, however, is that the real villain will turn out to be whoever deceived Primo and Shimon Cozart way back when and started this whole feud in the first place. Whoever it is, they're probably sitting this out and watching and hoping that the Shimon and Vongola families destroy each other neatly so that they can take over in the aftermath. I expect that Enma and Tsuna will team up once they figure that out. OF COURSE I COULD BE WRONG; we'll see.
Anyway, like I've said, failboss-with-just-a-hint-of-badass is my favorite flavor for Tsuna, so I have no real complaints, myself. ;; I'm sure that as this arc progresses, we'll be seeing more and more of the badass side, though. Especially if things keep moving the way they have been. This thing with Enma is really bringing out the GAR in him.
