I'm guessing that the whole "the Byakurans in all the universes are connected so if you kill one you kill them all" thing only applied to Byakuran in the current time and not the past? Except that then you have to wonder how they expected that to make any difference; presumably, killing TYL!Byakuran would not do anything to prevent TYE!Byakuran from growing up and taking over the world. But sealing the Mare rings would, I suppose. And locking him up on some beach resort prison, too.
It still makes little enough sense that I'm guessing it was probably just a retcon she decided at the last minute because he turned out to be too fun a character not to keep. But well, it's not like I'm complaining. XD
