I'M LATE AGAIN.

BIRTHDAYS I HAVE MISSED: creativexwonder's and half_sleeping's. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GUYS; I HOPE THEY WERE GOOD. I haven't even checked my flist in a week, sob.

And then there are a bunch of comments I need to catch up on (sorry XD). And some memes. And also KHR 285.


1. Ha ha for some reason I cracked up at this first page. What with the whole "another peaceful day in Namimori" narration and the first panel shot of the sky and the birds flying, the call to the cows music just immediately popped into my head, and then I thought of all of the crazy stuff that will doubtless soon be happening to poor innocent Tsuna who is so sweetly and naively bidding farewell to his mother. lol.

Enma almost looked normal and unscary for a moment, and then the CREEPY EYES returned. This kid keeps luring me in and sucker punching me. Just. I don't even know.


2. It's kind of adorable seeing how awkward Tsuna is about trying to be friends with Enma, though. It's been a while since he's made any friends of the non-mafia variety (not that this is actually an exception to that, but for all he knows at the moment); what with him being the Vongola Tenth and having GUARDIANS and MINIONS, friends just sort of happen to him usually. So it's kind of sweet to see him in a more typical middle school social situation. (It reminds me of way back when he first met Yamamoto and he was SO EXCITED because OMG A POPULAR KID TALKED TO ME AND LIKED ME, AHHHH XD.)

Also, we finally got an explanation for the wtf that happened a couple chapters ago, which is nice. Apparently it was just "an electrostatic feeling", which makes me wonder if Tsuna has a huge freakout out every time someone walks across a carpet and touches him.


3. OH NO, GOKUDERA WAS LATE TO MEET UP WITH TSUNA AND NOW SOME NEW KID IS MACKING ON HIS BOSS. This is terrible. D: Seriously, I love how he comes running up to meet them before anything UNTOWARD can happen.

And like a good subordinate, he has been faithfully carrying out his boss's orders to study the hell out of the mysterious transfer U.M.A. OH WAIT, THERE WERE NO ORDERS, YOU SAY? Well, he certainly seems to recall there being orders, and his intuition is pretty damn good, so I dunno. I think your memory is getting a little iffy there.


4. S-speak of the devil and she shall appear...?? MY GOD, WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT THAT BLING? Byakuran's hard-earned title of Queen (yes, queen) of Fabulousness and Everything Else Awesome is in serious jeopardy at this point. He never drove around in a floating car... thing...? going "BAFUUN BAFUUN~." Though now I feel like he should have, just because.


5. FUCK YEAH, IT'S AN ADELHEID TAKEOVER. \o/ Looks like the showdown of the century has finally begun. And while it's good to see that Tsuna has confidence in his ever-dependable (that might not be the right adjective) Cloud Guardian, I can't help but think he's selling Adelheid short. I THINK SHE MIGHT SURPRISE YOU, BUD.

Besides, judging from the top left panel here, I'm pretty sure Adelheid has the Sharingan.


6. Heeeey, it's a party! Looks like everyone's gathered together (I'm impressed it happened within three chapters, considering that last time it took THE ENTIRE ARC for the two sides to gather and finally have a showdown) to cheer on their respective terrifying committee heads.

I'm totally rooting for Adelheid if it wasn't REALLY OBVIOUS, btw. XD Incidentally, I like how Aoba is apparently the only guy in the entire group who has hormones. Well, it wouldn't be shounen if we didn't have at least one character who is a pervert.


7. Holy shit this page. For a minute I thought I was accidentally reading Air Gear. XD Yeeeaaaah, so anyway.


8. Is Tsuna just that confident in Hibari's asskicking skills, or is he seriously oblivious to the fact that Adelheid is clearly more than holding her own in this fight? JESUS CHRIST, TSUNA, YOU'RE MORE LIKELY TO GET BITTEN TO DEATH (AGAIN) THAN SHE IS.

And now he just has to go and ruin the greatest battle in history, doesn't he? Sigh. I'd be really disappointed if it wasn't for the fact that this might just be the greatest page in all of manga history. The image of Tarzan!Reborn barreling into Tsuna causing his eyes to bug out while he assumes the LEO I'M FLYINGGGGG pose of Titanic fame is a panel for the ages. An instant modern classic. I GIVE IT FOUR STARS.

Sob that boy is so abused.


9. Although Adelheid brings up a good point here--for all his fail, Tsuna is kind of indestructible. Comes in handy, I suppose.


10. And at last we finally have some light shed on these guys...!

Oh, wait, this actually doesn't shed any light on them at all. OF COURSE THEY WERE PART OF ANOTHER MAFIA FAMILY, it's not like anyone ever shows up in this series who isn't. XD I guess Tsuna and co. still have yet to learn that they are the main characters of a mafia-themed shounen manga. EVERYTHING IS MAFIA. ALL THE TIME. ALWAYS.


Oh well, hopefully next week Reborn will actually be forced to explain what exactly the Mafia Inheritance Ceremony is (you know, aside from the obvious). And anyway, I can't stay mad at a chapter with Tarzan!Reborn, so. We still cool.

1. Enma. Is not of this planet. He just ... isn't. Maybe he's like a mini-demon who got kicked out of demon land because he just didn't, Iunno, fit in with the other big, bad demons of utter destruction and magnitude?

2. Ffft. Tsuna and his specialness coming into the picture there. W-Why didn't he just accidentally brush his hand against Enma's instead of ... oh, asking (because that doesn't seem strange at all)? He's ... way too polite to be a mafia boss. Seriously, what is this madness, Ninth. ;;

4. ... I still want to know how that thing was floating. W-Was she using some kind of voodoo that required her to chant bafuun? o.o Gokudera, stop rubbing off on your fans. brbfacepalming.

5. I loved the fact she had a banner and everything set up~ She just ... owns my soul. If only we had gotten to see more of that fight. Because Adelheid was holding her own well and it could have gone either way. That, or they both would have ended up in the hospital, but a small price to pay to find true love! ... I mean, wait, a good rival!

6. Yup, Aoba gets points in my book for having working hormones. She must scare the rest too much to even consider looking at her the wrong way.

8. Tarzan!Reborn and Titanic pose!Tsuna made this chapter ... epic. Just 'nuff said. Must resist temptation to icon that scene like crazy. Makes me wonder if Reborn's next cosplay won't involve a ship of some sort, though. Just so he can run into Tsuna, claiming the kid as an iceberg, and saying he couldn't really deny history.

Poor Tsuna, no wonder he doesn't feel the abuse any more.

9. Ah, the wonderful thing that is being the main character! Indestructibility power, go!

1. He's a cute little guy on the surface, but those eyes, man. I JUST DON'T KNOW.

2. I love how unnecessarily awkward he went and made it, though. If there is a way to complicate even the simplest things, Tsuna will always manage to find it. XD

4. It was floating because SPACE ALIEN!!!!!!1 Lol, yeah, I love how it seems like most of the fans are right there with him for once. There is no way Shitt P. is actually human.

5. I've decided that as punishment for Amano cutting the fight short, I am just going to assume that Adelheid would have won the battle hands-down, and now THERE IS NOTHING AMANO CAN DO TO CONTRADICT ME. Take that!

6. But she is worth the risk! They need to conquer their fears and see the light. XD

8. Apparently his next cosplay involved TENNIS FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AT ALL, but the Titanic mental image is pure gold.

And yeah, I guess after a while he just got used to it.
