I finally caved in and got an Enma icon.

It was only a matter of time, I suppose.

1. I can't remember the last time Amano has so blatantly shipped a pair of characters like this. Probably not since Squalo first made his feelings for Yamamoto loud and clear.

"Tsuna and Enma are both clumsy... BUT PERHAPS THEY CAN UNDERSTAND ONE ANOTHER...?" I swear, that line doesn't even need any editing to become the tagline for a doujinshi. You can just leave it as is. And I'd read that doujin. And I'm pretty sure it would be adorable.

2. It's been a while since we had some good old fashioned freaks of nature battling Tsuna. Now that we're about a month into the Inheritance Arc, I do find myself feeling nostalgic for the Future Arc every so often, with its insanity and monster-people and hard to follow action panels and people shouting "GRAAR! AAARGH!"

And then I read this page and this one and that nostalgia faded awfully fast. XD

3. I tell you what, though, Amano sure does love to draw Tsuna bashing people's faces in lately. And she's getting pretty good at it. I mean, it's well executed, you know? Spit flying, eyes popping, and Tsuna looking oh-so-I-just-don't-fucking-care as he pulls it off. For what it is, it does its job well. It holds its own in the world of face-bashing panels, is what I'm trying to say.

4. ...okay, yeah, thank God that's over and done with. XD So, having reminded us all that yes, it is still a shounen manga despite the BL cover, Amano returns to the current plot of "Boy Tsuna, this sure is going to be one crazy week leading up to the inheritance ceremony." Enma applauds Tsuna's kung fu skills, and Tsuna, still a closeted action hero even now, tries to deny it by making up ridiculous stories about I BUMPED INTO THIS TREE AND IT MADE ME DEFY GRAVITY SOMEHOW OKAY.

And meanwhile, Reborn helpfully drops more and more hints for me to use to support my crazy theories. THANK YOU, REBORN. You're a good friend.

5. OH MY GOD, TENTH WAS ATTACKED?!?!?!

As always, Gokudera is hilarious and adorable, but I would like to take a moment to call attention away from his adorable hilarity and towards the cover of the book he is holding, "Secrets of the Underground Creature." That's right, you guys, SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT SHITT P. AND GOKUDERA FOUND IT AND PURCHASED IT. Why do both of those facts make me so, so happy? I don't even know.

Anyway, so Gokudera's all "LET'S CALL EVERYBODY IMMEDIATELY!!!!" which also makes me happy because nowadays his crazy overreacting response is to call all the guardians together rather than running off to ~~make things worse~~ save the day himself. And not just the guardians, but the Shimon family too! HE'S SO RIGHT HANDY LATELY, I AM SO PROUD OF HIM. <3 <3 <3 Reborn is too, just look at that smile.

And then he goes and accosts Enma, hahahaha.

6. Meanwhile, Chrome is shopping (buying chocolate, I might add. Isn't that one of Mukuro's favorites? HMM SUSPICIOUS) and for some reason Nametwin is spying on her?? And then Enma calls and he makes this pedotastic face when he answers the phone and then he actually ADMITS TO STALKING CHROME, o-omg. And makes a perverted comment about Adelheid's legs (HER LEGS NOT HER BOOBS, HELL YES HE IS A MAN OF QUALITY TASTE). And responsibly passes up a call to action from his boss.

This feeling I have... IS THIS WHAT THEY CALL LOVE? *_* Julie, please do me a favor and show up in the manga more so I can lol at you.

7. So in the end, they only managed to gather the Vongola Fab Four and the Shimon gang minus Nametwin and Shitt P. Who is busy meditating. Gokudera makes a note of it in his own stalker log.

And now I have to stop and fangirl Gokudera again. I'M SORRY. But holy shit he is taking command of the meeting and assessing the threat and telling everyone that they need to work together to stop it, and he's done the research and has formed a plan of teams based on everyone's expertise, and just. I am so goddamn happy I feel like I could burst, okay. ;_________; MY BABY IS ALL GROWN UP AND DOING HIS JOB RESPONSIBLY AND WELL!!!!111

Hell, if he keeps this up, he might actually become so capable that I can no longer make fun of him. ...D:

8. ...anyway so the teams consist of Kaoru and Yamamoto, Hibari and Adelheid, Aoba and Ryohei, and so on and so on, all of which is just SO SHOCKING that I actually started typing this sentence even before I clicked on this page. What can I say, I'm psychic or something. Anyway, Yamamoto congratulates Dera on having thought this out pretty thoroughly, which just goes to show that either Yamamoto is far less observant than I thought, or more capable of being deviously condescending than I would have ever expected.

Aoba objects because he doesn't like being talked down to, but Adelheid shuts him up, and immediately everyone is all, "OHHHHH SHIT SO SHE'S THE ONE IN CHARGE, EH?" but really, they should have known all along.

9. Julie is one smug, lazy bastard. The more I see of him, the more I adore him. Though if I knew him in real life I would probably want to punch his face in. BUT EVEN SO, HE'S A CUTE LITTLE ASSHOLE.

More importantly, though... what the hell is Shitt P. doing there, exactly? She is just... leaning... but standing absolutely rigid...???

10. "By the way, has everyone been taking good care of 'that'?" Uh oh, I sense a possible theory-buster...

Oh, no, wait, it's just some weird... pendant... thing. That he's inherited as the boss of the Shimon family. And that suddenly makes him have a dying will flame in his eyes or something. I knew there was something about those eyes, dammit.

I do hope Enma doesn't wind up becoming one of the traditional-style Reborn villains, though. Much better if he actually befriends Tsuna and it's actually a surprise when the betrayal happens. YEAH, I SAID "WHEN." DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LIKE THE LITTLE SHOTA, BUT THERE IS NO WAY THIS CAN POSSIBLY END WELL.

Next week is Golden Week, right? So SJ's probably taking a break. Oh well. XD

Sort of, anyway. It starts a week from now, and then goes from the Monday after that through that Wednesday (May 3-5). But I'm not quite clear on the SJ release schedule; it comes out on Mondays officially in Japan, right? And we get the RAWs on the Thursday/Friday before that, usually. So yeah, I think it's next week that they're off.

But anyhow, I went off on a tangent. Yeah, time sure does fly.

Well, for me anyway, aside from being excited about where this arc might be headed, I'm mostly just loving all of the new characters. Enma and co. have so far been much more interesting and entertaining than the Funeral Wreaths and so on were (even though I was fond of Kikyou). So yeah, it's basically that and Gokudera being all kinds of amazing.

Word! And they all look great in those uniforms~

(Ahaha, I meet Julies everywhere I go, now. My roommate freshman year was a Julie. My old college's old name was Villa Julie. Last semester I had another Julie in all of my classes. Now there's Julies in manga and fandom! Yeah, we're awesome.)

From your last entry about possible outcomes, I liked the idea of number three, that the ceremony can't commence without Tsuna's consent. idk if he gets cold feet and the Vongola family is without a leader and vulnerable to usurpation then I can totally see this tiny suspiciously strong and ready-to-prove-its-might family taking over. But then again, when has anyone ever been right about the plot? XD

And Tsuna is John Lennon and Kyoko is Yoko Ono? XD Now they only need a yellow submarine. But I'm sure Shoichi can help them out in this regard ROFL

Everyone seems to be in agreement about Gokudera's recent awesomeness, haha. Good on him. And lol, yeah, Julie had better watch himself or he might just run into Chrome's fruitier half one of these days. (Then again, if Julie is a Mist type himself, that could turn out pretty interesting.) And I agree that it's about time we found out more about the Shimon family's mysterious mysteriousness. But it could be that Amano's holding off on explaining that until later on.

Enma is remarkably appealing; I can say this because in spite of the fact that he still creeps me out with those weeeeeird eyes of his (now made all the weirder by the fact that they are UPSIDE DOWN DYING WILL EYES?!), I am still finding myself growing fonder and fonder of him with every chapter. And finding him adorable somehow in spite of the creepiness. That's impressive.

Tsuna, on the other hand, has sported this pathetically retarded look since the start of this series.

l-lol COULD IT BE WE EACH HAVE OPPOSITE OPINIONS ON TSUNA? Haha, he is pathetic, though, I can't argue that. But I love him for it. His denial can be frustrating at times, but I have to admire how determined he is to not just give in to Reborn and accept his mafia birthright. Even though he's incredibly spineless about most other things, that little bit of stubbornness is proof that he's not always a pushover. Even if the one thing he's most determined about also happens to be the dumbest possible thing. I still admire it, all the same.

Also I find him just as adorable as Enma in his own way, but maybe that's just me. XD

I was waiting for your weekly review to simply flail about how Gokudera became awesome again, no, even more awesome than ever, because this arc is re-converting me to this kid's fan and I'm two steps away from getting Gokudera icon purely for this arc.

I loved Gokudera's series of actions more than anything!! It overshadowed Julie's stalking, Shitt P's meditation, Adelheide being Hibari-plus-Gokudera figure, and just everything. Yes, they were fun and adorable and so him but it was more than these. I think this arc is actually showing what kind of role Gokudera will be assuming in the future of Tsuna's family--the true second-in-command who prevents the danger from growing, plans actions to take, and actually organize the family.

Gosh, I have so much things to say about Gokudera in this arc...

1- Is it bad that I think Enma looks really hot on that page? I'm sure the doujin would be adorable too lol

2+3- It's been a while since I went "HOSHIT!" at this series. ~~Actually, Adelheid and Hibari's fight was pretty exciting too.~~

5- Part of me is more excited about finding out what Shitt P's true power is more than what the plot is going to lead to. I mean, a published book!? Wow.
I was so proud of him too 8D Most of the time I want to slap Gokudera for getting character development and it seemingly not actually sticking, but he's learned! Yaaay!

6- Baww Chrome and her little matching purse |D<3 3 whole panels this week! And Julie was great lolol. It also scares and intrigues me as to why he would be talking about her thighs of all places, huhuhu. Apparently Shimon is a hella lot straighter than the Vongola, that's for sure.

7- I love that Gokudera is doing his job by doing Tsuna's job when he doesn't want to. 8DDD And I'm sure they'll be something to make fun of him with D8

10- Apparently everyone has a pendent thingy too (or maybe it's just the side of a ring). And why is the flame upside down? o.o I'm so confused lol.

I agree that this is a preview of things to come with him. He finally really understands what it means to be a real right hand man, and he's doing his best to start filling that role properly. And he is doing a really good job. I'm actually astonished by how well he's handling it; it's like once he figured out what he needed to do, it all just came naturally. :D ATTABOY.

5. You know, same here, in a way. She's just so weird. And so far she's had like one real line, so she's basically still a mystery. At this rate, Gokudera's research will end up being the only way we'll ever find out more about her. XD
