Ah, I guess I didn't really explain myself right? But it is basically what you said; he's losing his family members to the Vindice and he's blaming Tsuna for it. The thing is, he was the one who challenged the Vongola and he knew the penalty for losing a fight was imprisonment and now he's basically going BOO SAWADA HOW DARE YOU WIN. It's like he never even considered he could lose.
Combine that with me thinking his justification for revenge is already on shaky ground (taking it out on a generation that has nothing to do with it? really? really really?) and I just find that that scene paints him in a very unsympathetic light, even if he's motivated by his love for his family members. And it feels - I don't really know the right word for it, but he didn't intervene in any of the previous fights and it feels like cheating. He made his bed but doesn't want to sleep in it. That's what it seems like to me at least.
