SO MANY THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS! BUT HERE I AM STILL STUCK REVIEWING CHAPTER 350 AND UP FIRST.

SUMMARY OF THIS CHAPTER:

STOP! IN THE NAME OF LOOOOOVE--

Ahem. So we open the brand new ARCOARC (which Amano made a hilarious failed attempt to dub "The Curse of the Rainbow Arc"... heeheehee. Classic) with a color page of shininess and an even shinier color page in which Amano grants one of my fondest wishes causing me to flip out with excitement, but more on that below*. Cut to Reborn having some trippy dreams about lizards, and his secret past! In said past, he was incredibly hot, and then some masked guy with a checkerboard fetish came and asked him to join "the world's strongest."

Reborn snaps awake before any useful knowledge can be gleaned from this dream, due to Tsuna being an adorable worrywart/busybody. Reborn muses some more and before long goes back to dreaming about that fateful day when he made the retrospectively stupid decision to trust this man wearing a tablecloth and batman mask, and followed his map written on a napkin or some shit to a quaint little town in Italy where he met the other six Arcobaleno for (I'm guessing) the first time. Then suddenly spotlights fell on them and they all just TURNED INTO BABIES for NO APPARENT REASON.

But it turns out that this is no ordinary dream! This is in fact a shared dream orchestrated by, you guessed it, Checkers, who is greeted warmly by his old friends with cries of "BASTARD" and "I'M GONNA KILL YOU." Checkers calmly reminds them that THIS IS ONLY A DREAM, DERPWARDS, YOU CAN'T HURT ME, which just goes to prove he never saw Inception. Then he asks them if they want to be freed from the Curse of the Rainbow. And judging by their reactions (not that I actually expected any of them to go, "Eh, nah, I'm good"), they are interested.

THINGS OF NOTE:

I wonder if Amano has completed line drawings somewhere for those silhouettes on the Arco color page. I'd like to see those. I mean, come on, Adult!Reborn is holding TWO guns. GIANT GUNS. While wearing a trenchcoat!! The world's most badass picture is hiding away in the mangaka's desk drawer somewhere and that is just not fair, damn it.
*KAWAHIRA. I WAS REFERRING TO KAWAHIRA. IN THE COLOR PAGE. KAWAHIRA. MY INITIAL REACTION UPON SEEING THAT WAS SOMETHING LIKE: KAWAHIRA!!!!!!! (/゜o゜)
Seriously, can we take this as all but confirmation that Kawahira is FINALLY going to show his stupid ramen-eating face in this arc? Because every single other person on that color page has made an appearance thus far, and I do mean every single one. Well, except for Shamal (ANOTHER LONG TIME NO-SHOW), Glo Xinia, and Genkishi, but seriously, other than that they are all here!
Does Reborn keep random bullets just lying around next to abandoned water glasses? Standing up on their ends? For absolutely no reason?
Anyone else note the parallels between the scene where Checkers shows up to present Reborn with his pacifier, and the scene where the Cervello first gave Byakuran his Mare ring way back when? Mysterious unknown characters appearing at random to gift a character with a piece of the trinisette. Makes me wonder if there's any connection between this new guy and the Cervello... probably not, but you never know.
Note to self: NEVER DISTURB REBORN WHILE HE IS ASLEEP.
I don't know what it is with Tsuna all of a sudden but lately it's Reborn this, Reborn that, he is like obsessed with all things Reborn. WHO ARE THE ARCOBALENO, WHY ARE YOU HAVING WEIRD DREAMS, OOH, WERE YOU DREAMING ABOUT A MEMORY, WHEN WAS IT, WHAT WERE YOU DREAMING ABOUT. It took him this long to develop an interest into the mysterious inner workings of his tutor? And if you were going to ask these intriguing questions at long last, why the fuck did you have to go and fall asleep again afterward? CURSE YOU, TSUNA.
Not that I can stay mad at him for long when he's doing that same snot-bubble thing that the Arcos do when they're asleep. XD
I am dying to see more of this dream/memory, guys. The fact that it keeps getting interrupted by Tsunas and checkerboard men is killing me here. NNNNF.

Why was adult Lal in the dream but suddenly she vanished and then baby!Colonnello was there? So were they both having the dream, or was he the one dreaming the whole time (about things he was never even there to originally witness??), or did she start the dream and then when the right moment came she just passed it off to him? See, Colonnello, this is why your stupid little chivalric stunt done gone fucked everything up. XD

As impatient as I am to have all these questions answered, I can't deny that I'm having a blast watching Amano set up this arc so far. I know they all seem to start out awesome and then fizzle out in the end, but I've still got high hopes for this one, I can't help it. Mysterious mysteries, battle royales, character reunions, POSSIBLE KAWAHIRA AND MAYBE EVEN SHAMAL SIGHTINGS (one can hope)? Hell yes. I'm in.

I am weak for any Battle Royal/Highlander settings. That's right guys, form alliances... and then after you have defeated your common enemies, you'll still have to fight each other. X) So that will include Tsuna versus Daddy, Mukurou versus Chrome, a Tsuna versus (now converted) Enma rematch AND Tsuna versus UNI?! BRING IT ON! >8D

*cough* Well, if Uni, Gamma and Byakuran bothered to come back (it's now official: nobody EVER dies in KHR...), surely Kawahira's turn shall come eventually. Hey...what if Fon picked him as a representative? That would be awesome! Bonus points if he also took I-pin... with a Ten-Year bazooka of his own! (Ok, that might be too much to ask for...)

I wonder though... Considering there are only eight watches for the representatives, boss and Arcobaleno... Where does Dino fit?

Dino is hopeless without his men anyway, so there you have it. *so obviously biased* And just you wait, I bet Genkishi will come back eventually. He died in the future, after all, so he isn't dead in this timeline.

Well, I don't think Tsuna's going to let Lambo in on this. It's one thing to accept that he's a part of the team and is capable of taking part in adventures, but involving him in a free-for-all gathering of crazy powerhouses? Unacceptable. Jesus Boss can't possibly be cool with that.

So maybe we could scratch Lambo and add Chrome.

Then again, Tsuna wouldn't let ANYONE enter if he had any say in this... I'm afraid Reborn is still the one in control. But it would indeed be interesting if Reborn's representatives weren't only Tsuna's guardians.

I think I'm fine with anything, so long as the fight scenes are cool and flashy. And if I trust KHR with anything, it's those. >)

Oh yeah, I forgot about Chrome. Lol, then I have no idea how they're gonna make that work. Maybe take Lambo out and decide that he's not mature enough for something so dangerous...you know...like they should have done for the 493849834 other dangerous situations?

Dino is useless without his men, but he doesn't know that, lol. Romario could just follow along at a safe and discreet distance and Dino would just think he's being a good RHM.

....Or...you know...theres this mystery person that Fon has decided to be his rep...maybe along with Kawahira (Which I'm desperately hoping for too), he's gotten Hibari since A. Hibari and Fon are totally the same person or at least related and B. I think Hibari would want the chance to beat up the other Vongola and Mukurou and Reborn (since he wouldn't listen to the rules and wouldn't know Reborn couldn't fight. Or wouldn't care.)

Iemitsu's team doesn't appear to have 7 members either, not to mention the Varia which doesn't have a Cloud. Enma also appears to be kind of on his own because his family doesn't take him the least bit seriously (WTF, Adelheid?).

Anyway, a one-man team would be a pretty boss team. I don't put it past Kawahira to solo everyone.

I think we're down to Luce and Gokudera's mom as the only two dead people who ever actually stayed dead. And that's exactly what I was thinking about I-Pin and Kawahira being Fon's representatives. I mean, it's perfect--I-Pin is Fon's student, after all, and Kawahira is her future customer, or employer, I forget which... but the point is there's some sort of logical connection there, somewhere! I am as certain of this happening as I've ever been of anything happening in KHR, which doesn't necessarily mean it stands a good chance of happening, but until it does I am just going to assume it's already canon. Because why not.

And I'm in agreement with

elanor_pam about Lambo being the most likely character to be bumped down to benchwarmer status in favor or Dino. Tsuna won't want him fighting all these lunatics like Byakuran and Mukuro, and Reborn probably won't want to risk his one shot at de-cursed...hood...ness(??) by putting Lambo on his all-star team. :P

Luce and Gokudera's mom don't count: they died in flashbacks. It's the same as "Naruto": if a character dies before the beginning of the story, they stay dead. Afterwards, you can be sure they will come back in some form. Though come to think of it, "Naruto" went as far as to bring Dan back as a zombie even though he died in a flashback. And then there are the posthumous characters like Primo and the Yondaime... Do the dead ever rest in shounen?

I guess Lambo being dropped is a possibility, but I still think it would be weird to use Dino if his men aren't around to make him stay, well, useful. I suspect Reborn just picked him so he could ride on his shoulder until they got to Yamamoto.

Haha, he was only in like three chapters, it was bound not to be the most lasting of impressions! If it weren't for my obsession with finding out more about previously unknown characters who just SHOW UP OUT OF NOWHERE?! and then DISAPPEAR BACK INTO NOWHERE, I'd have forgotten about him too.

I watched the anime up until Byakuran was fighting Tsuna. (and anyway I think he barely appeared for ....one episode. Or half an episode.)

...I suddenly wondered if Kawahira will be Fon's choice now. I mean. That would be awesome. *______* Even though of course I want it to be Hibari, Kawahira appearing would be really appreciated♥

They really are. Checkers seems to be in charge of the pacifiers while the Cervello manage the rest of the tri-ni-sette, I guess? And they both have the same let's-cover-the-top-halves-of-our-faces-for-no-good-reason thing going on. And the same fondness for planning out overly elaborate battles, even.

I guess that makes more sense than any of the other options on the table. And in the end, it's not really much to get worked up over, I just noticed these things when I reread the chapters, and I wonder.

what makes it even better is that here in Japan, all of the Junior High students I help teach are amazed at the fact that i love Reborn! and will stop me in the hallway to ask about my fav character and what i think of the latest chapter
