A MEME OF FRIENDSHIP

This looks like fun either way, but the fact that it can double as a catching-up meme makes it that much better. From [livejournal.com profile] cleartempest:

The problem with LiveJournal is that we think we're close, but really, we know nothing about each other.

So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me, something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about, or something you've always been curious about but have never asked, or something completely silly that you'd like me to answer for kicks. No limits on the range of questions, either: ask me anything you want to know about, whether it's a fannish opinion or a question about a fic of mine or trivia about my real life or my thoughts on events in the offline world.

Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you!

Feel free to ask me anything about anything--the one thing everyone no doubt knows already is that I love to ramble. XD

If you play videogames, what genre do you typically go for?

lol. Couldn't think of anything interesting to ask xD;

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, that's actually a pretty good question; I actually have to stop and think for a sec. XD The thing is, I'm a total Nintendo fangirl; I grew up with it and to this day I've still never owned any systems other than Nintendo consoles (well, unless you count the Sega Genesis back in the day). Currently I own a Wii and DS. That said, looking at my library, there really isn't much of a pattern except that I am apparently a total whore for all of Nintendo's first-party games. Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Star Fox, and so forth... so I guess that would mostly be platformers/adventure games, or whatever those are classified as.

But I like RPGs and shooters and puzzle and music and racing games too, so I don't even know, really. XD I can't pick just one, lol.

-what have you been so busy with? ;w; ARE YOU GONNA DISAPPEAR LIEK THAT AGAIN ANYTIME SOON?!

-What are some of your favorite foods?

-What is one thing you bet I didn't know about you? XD The weirder/more random the better.

- Also, rec a song, please? :3

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
1. sob XD Well, first it was that I was dealing with a lot of holiday-related chaos (nothing bad, it was just really busy), and then around mid-January I started a major job hunt, so that kept me away from the net as well. I ended up getting a customer service job that I hated, but which was really the best option available regardless (I blame the economy for that much), and that was really draining, so I didn't have much energy for the Internet. Finally, I quit that job and got another that pays less but is also waaaay less stressful, and that's when I decided it was way past time to finally jump back into fandom again and let people know that I hadn't died. XD

I can't guarantee that something else won't eventually come along, but if it does, I promise this time I'll leave some notice. XDDD

2. Pizza, Japanese curry, tacos, rice and beans, guacamole (or just about anything with avocado in it, really), teriyaki chicken, and blueberry pancakes... okay, now I'm hungry.

3. I got beaten up by about fifty people last week! Tested for my third-degree black belt and passed. /o/ But I currently have a mass of bruises all up and down my arms and look like an abuse victim. XD

4. Right now I can't get Zero by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs out of my head, so I'll go with that. (Youtube is here, DL is here if you want.)

[identity profile] cleartempest.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
3. ...Damn woman, you're dangerous. XD

4. I dled it after watching the vid XD she's so...hot and cool OMG.

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
3. lol, not really, but thanks. XD

4. She really is pretty cool. My brother is in love with her, heh.

[identity profile] caddles.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm. (:

Well, I'm going to ask you;

1. What's your favourite colour?
2. Do you have any pets?
3. What kind of books do you like to read?

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
1. Red, or any reddish/orangeish shade. It's kind of weird because for years my favorite color was blue, and then one day I just woke up and was like, "you know what, red is really awesome." XD

2. I used to have two cats (named Jessie and James), but had to give them up a couple years back when we moved. So no pets currently. :(

3. Mainly sci-fi/fantasy, though currently I'm on a bit of a horror kick thanks to Stephen King. Right now I'm in the midst of reading It; next on the list is The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

[identity profile] caddles.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
1. KHR has made me LOVE colour a lot more than I usually do.
It's actually kind of sad. Reds a great colour! Especially sort of maroon-y!

2. Awwww, that sucks! I'm sorry to hear that. (... Jessie and James LIKE FROM POKEMON???)

3. Oh, really? I like horror books (hate horror movies though orz) - haven't heard of the books that you're reading though. Is it any good? A good page-turner? I love the books that you can't put down!

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
2. Heh, it's okay; a friend of ours ended up taking them in, so at least we know they're doing fine. (And YES, NAMED AFTER TEAM ROCKET, lol. XD My siblings and I unanimously agreed on the names.)

3. It is pretty good so far; I'm about three-quarters of the way through with it, and it does a good job of keeping you into it even though it's ridiculously long (well, as far as most popular novels go, anyway). The characterization is the best part, I think; all the characters are really fleshed out and interesting. And it's creepy as hell, but in a good way.

[identity profile] jewel-song.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
This seems fun! :)

1. I know you're a college grad so, what did you major in?

2. What's the best form of inspiration for your writing?

3. And something simple: top 3 movies?

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Communications, with a Journalism concentration. If I had to go back and do it again I actually might have majored in political science or something else instead, but as it is, I still had fun. And it's not a bad degree; pretty versatile.

2. Hmm, that's tough to say. Most of the time my inspiration comes in the form of random little thoughts or ideas I'll get out of nowhere, like a piece of dialogue or a what-if scenario or something along those lines, and then I start writing from there. It actually happens a lot when I'm driving, come to think, maybe because most of that is automatic, so my mind has a chance to wander a little bit.

3. The Empire Strikes Back, Serenity, and Kill Bill: Vol. 2. \o/

[identity profile] jewel-song.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
2. I can totally relate on the getting ideas while driving. Some of my best ones have come from when I'm on the highway for 6 hours driving to/back from school. :)

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there have been times where I've pretty much written entire scenes out in my head while driving. I'll get back and then immediately dash to my computer and try to type it all before I forget. XD

[identity profile] azartti.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
1. How many children would you have if you want?

2. What kind of music do you like or favorite bands?

3. Nickname to go by? Other than makeste?

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-04 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Hmm, not sure. More than one, less than five. XD I love kids, but the older I get, the more aware I am of the mind-boggling amount of work that goes into raising them.

2. I love alternative rock, and pretty much anything with good lyrics and a decent melody. My favorite bands are U2, Radiohead, and Third Eye Blind. <3

3. Just about anything works, but I most prefer my real name, Julie.

[identity profile] azartti.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
1. Lol, it's the same with me. But being here with my sister made me realize it's not that easy, not that I didn't knew but it gave me a more realistic view.

2. Never heard anything about Third Eye Blind *dodges tomatoes*

3. Julie will be :)

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Yeah, being around friends who are starting to have kids is just a little eye-opening. It's weird because I've been around kids all my life--four younger siblings, 18 younger cousins, the kids at my church, karate program, and so forth--and I've never found them a hassle at all. But the thing I've only in the last couple years or so realized is that it's completely different when you're actually the parent. XD Still, by all accounts it's totally worth it, so.

2. Sobbbb my poor unknown favorite band. XDDDD LISTEN TO THIIIS

3. ♥

[identity profile] azartti.livejournal.com 2009-06-13 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
orz sorry for the delay.

1. I know. Right now, I can succesfully change a diaper lol.

2. It's awesome. I'll try more of the songs once I have the time, orz
