ITP: Genkishi is hilarious.

Unless you're Basil. Then he's terrifying.

1. Okay, Amano, we get it. YAMAMOTO IS HOT. This is why it has been taking me two or three times as long as usual to get through the chapters lately. I keep having to stop every other page to oggle. XD

And is it just me, or has Basil been making the exact same face in every panel he's been in for the last two or three chapters? It makes me wonder what this kid is like at zoos and circuses. LOOK AT THAT!! AHHHH, LOOK AT THAT!!!!11 HE IS SO CUTE.

2. The Hell Ring turns Genkishi into a Stalfos with a viking helmet and some bling! Oh no. Run away fast.

"Nngghhh... my power is multiplied many times over...!! But why...? Why, when I have all this power... do you not acknowledge me...?"

BECAUSE IT'S NOT EVEN REMOTELY SCARY, GENKISHI. It's mostly just funny. Sorry. :(

3. SERIOUSLY BASIL. CALM THE FUCK DOWN. It's going to be all right, holy shit. RELAX. !!

4. Wait wait wait. FULL STOP. Is Hibari... actually impressed here on this page, or am I hallucinating, or did we just spend too much time talking about this last week, or what? DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN? Wonders never cease.

5. And lastly, I love that Yamamoto still calls Shigure Souen Ryu an "invincible" style. |D I was rereading the fight between him and Squalo last week, and it made me a little sad to think that his father's perfect sword style had actually been defeated by Genkishi~~'s wall~~. So to see him say in this chapter that it wasn't Shigure Souen Ryu that lost the fight last time, but rather his inexperienced self... well, that made me grin a little. He really, really loves his dad and respects the hell out of that style.

So all in all, not much to ramble on this week, but this chapter is still full of sexy and funny. Which is basically all I could ask for.

OHMYGOD I AM SO GLAD I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THINKING THIS. I just about sprayed my water across my screen when Genkishi used the Hell Ring, because it was like, HAHAHA just blow him up with a bomb, Li--err, Yamamoto! Wiiiin. ♥

And I was with you on Hibari sounding impressed. I was like, ... DID WE JUST SEE THAT?! I was so waiting for someone to comment on that in the actual chapter, but was very disappointed to see that comment kind of slide under the radar.

Hahaha, I didn't actually notice Basil's reactions until you pointed them out, and now I think I'm gonna lol every time he gets a panel. Hee hee~

I have completely lost the ability to maintain a straight face when I see Genkishi now. He is a lost cause to me, poor guy. XD And yeah, the chapter was awesome.

In his defense, he's not the only one making faces (Kyoko and Haru have been going D: pretty regularly too), but he's definitely been going at it the most consistently. And with the most hilarious results. XD

Basil is now officially the guy who overreacts to everything. XD But it is adorable.

I KNOW, HE IS A BEAST. And yeah, me too; I really want to see what came of his training with Dera. Plus his last fight was really awesome.

I SERIOUSLY JUST CRACK UP EVERY TIME I SEE HIM NOW. It doesn't help that he keeps talking like an 80s cartoon villain. XD

Haha, the way I see it, Yama's just setting the bar for Dera's next fight to be that much more epic. I HAVE FAITH IN THE RIGHT HAND MAN. (Heh, he's my favorite, too. ♥)

Lol, I just noticed randomly and noted that his expression looked familiar, so I went back to check, and... well, lo and behold. Yeah, Amano's pretty much just copy-pasting him. XD

I know, Genkishi's been so anticlimactic I feel sorry for him. It doesn't help that Yamamoto's grown so amazingly powerful in such a short time. HE NEVER STOOD A CHANCE, poor guy.

As soon as he transformed again, I was like, "OH SHIT THAT LOOKS FAMILIAR." And I sat there and thought for a second, and then it clicked. XD Too bad Genkishi chose such a weak enemy; maybe he'd have had better luck if he'd gone with a darknut. :P

I guess everyone just accepted that even Hibari was impressed because Yamamoto was being just that awesome. In any case, suppose at the rate the other guardians have been getting stronger, it was only a matter of time before he started taking more notice of them. SEE HIBARI, SOMETIMES HERBIVORES CAN BE COOL TOO. :(

I'm already cracking up every time I see him now, sob. Slowly but surely I am destroying my own ability to take this manga seriously. XD

IT'S KARMA FOR HIS BEING A TOTAL DICK IN THE LAST COUPLE OF BATTLES. And for abusing Yamamoto with a wall. XD

Ah! I was meaning to come back to this since I only got caught up on that chapter yesterday and WOW!!! Hibari's vocal acknowledgement put my crazy 8018 fangirl into overdrive! *___________* When else has Hibari ever said boo about anyone else? Okay, he compliments Reborn back in ch. 16 when he's introduced, but aside from that? I can't remember him EVER saying a word about being impressed--it's always those silent looks like with that exclamation point we were talking about before. BUT NOW HE'S SAID IT! And for me, it feels like a huge confession. <33333 *squeegle*

The more I look at Yamamoto's interactions with everyone, the more I am convinced that he, not Tsuna, is the true fandom bicycle. XD

BASIL NEEDS TO HAVE MORE FAITH. Especially when it's Yamamoto fighting. If he's still like this when Hibari or one of their other godmodes is going at it, I won't have any choice but to shake my head and 'tsk.'

Yeah--granted, he was only correcting Giannini, but still. Any sort of acknowledgment from Hibari is incredibly rare. He was really getting into that fight. (But I can hardly blame him; like I just said to Caddles--Yamamoto's the type who has chemistry with just about everyone. |D)

It's because everyone is attracted to Yamamoto even if it doesn't go both ways. XD

I actually like Gokudera being put on the defensive, though, because not only should it help him along with developing his fighting style (fighting defensively is pretty different from fighting offensively, after all), but it also means that the strongest person on the other side is more likely to end up fighting him, because he's the one protecting the Vongola target.

But also, we've gotten to Dera's big moment in this arc just yet. What with Bianchi being there and Choice being a game in which multiple people of the same type can end up battling, I'm really hoping that in one of the next fights, he'll end up having to team up with his sister. Now that would be really interesting. In the meantime, we'll just have to be patient. XD

Haha, I know; Hibari says one little thing and all of a sudden everyone's like, "OH MY GOD" because for him even a little comment like this is unheard of. Lol.

At least the next chapter's up now! ...Though that just means we have yet another week to wait until the next one. XD

I kinda really want to read an X80 fic now. Who knows, Xanxus might be willing to go for a one-night stand or something with Yamamoto just to piss off Squalo. XD

Chikusa (asexual as he appears to be) would be more complicated, but maybe if Mukuro ordered it for the lulz? Or maybe if it started out as some battle because Chikusa wanted to fight the guy who beat Ken so handily so many arcs ago. And then it turned into some sort of sexy... fight... thing. I'm sure there must be a way; I'm now thoroughly convinced that Yama is universally shippable. :P

X80 would definitely hit the spot. *__* Can you imagine if they both were assigned the same target by accident and Yama innocently got to it first? Ooooo, Xanxus would be pissed off, lol. And I like the idea of Chikusa precisely because it would be complicated. <3 Maybe a chance encounter in Italy a few years later that dredges up memories of Yama beating Ken, and Chikusa beating Gokudera, and the sparks ignite. :D There should be some kind of challenge where Yamamoto fans write him with every character and make it work! XDDD

OH! :O You know what I just realized? tyl!Ken and Chikusa are still out there somewhere, right? I can sorta see them lying low in Namimori like Gamma & Co. o___o
