Commencing Christmas-stealing in three... two...

I would have done this yesterday, but I couldn't bring myself to read past the first page of INP's KHR 256 scanlation (I struggled for like two minutes to read the seemingly-encrypted text on the cover page, got to the word "Yuni" again, and decided this just wasn't happening).

But now IEM's scan is out. So we can party like it's 1999!



1. Am I the only one who thinks this page just looks weird what with no one having any eyes, noses, or facial features at all? Dino in particular is really creeping me out. Though Chrome for some reason is hilarious.

For that matter, so is Byakuran over in the corner, speeding at them like he's in Naruto. XD


2. I LOLed.

Seriously, I know they're fighting and all, but I swear that middle panel looks more like a brofive. Byakuran in the top left corner is all, "Mukuro! At last!" And then they meet and they're like, "LET'S DO THIS!" and they look like Power Rangers or something. And then Mukuro is like, "Kufufufu. BUZZ." And I just... lost it. Sob. I MISSED YOU, CHUCKLES YOU DEAR LAD. WITH YOU BACK, EVERYTHING IS JUST A LITTLE BIT GAYER.

(Case in point: the following page consists of a giant column of electric flowers, and Tsuna commenting on Mukuro's hair. HMM.)


3. COMRADE?? JUST WHEN I THOUGHT THE PLOT COULD NOT THICKEN ANY MORE, IT THICKENED AGAIN?!

So Mukuro has a buddy helping him out from "the outside"? A "poorly skilled kid" whom he refuses to acknowledge as an actual comrade? WHO IS THIS PERSON? My money's on the TYL version of this kid. I WANT TO HEAR MORE ABOUT THIS.


4. So apparently, Mukuro is still in prison ten whole years later. This is actually a real surprise to me; I thought for sure he'd have escaped by now. I guess he's not quite the Houdini I thought he was--that, or the Vendicare really are JUST THAT GOOD. But man, ouch--even Hibari looks a little :| at that news. Not that he doesn't already look like that one hundred percent of the time, but still.


5. asldfkja ten years later he's still quite the looker. *_* I THINK IT'S BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE HIS FOREHEAD IN THAT CLOSE-UP.


6. Awww, Mukuro, your TYL self is such a not-villain it's just plain adorable now. It's nice to see him so thoroughly topped by the side of goodness. XD "I wouldn't like someone else to take over the world." Of course, because you're totally still on that world-domination kick yourself. You just keep telling yourself that while you continue to be all heroic and stuff.


7. LOL IT'S A UFO. SHOUICHI AND SPANNER DESIGNED THIS THING, RIGHT? THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW TRULY NERDY THEY ARE. NEEEEEEEEEEEEERDS.


8. "If I knew it'd turn out like this, then I should have agreed with the Choice rematch." See, Byakuran, being a dick never gets you anywhere in life.

Also, Bluebell's likability factor just went up like 50 percent based solely on this bottom-left panel. "BYAKURAN! I DON'T LIKE YOU!" Without context, that is possibly my single favorite moment from the Reborn manga to date. And Byakuran just stands there like, "Wha?" Brilliant.

...of course, on the next page he then goes into out-and-out rape mode, which is. Scary beyond all reason. I like to think all five Funeral Wreaths immediately went, "OH GOD, OKAY, OKAY, DON'T KILL UNI. ROGER THAT oh dear god."


9. Wait--he's already taken over the world in all of the other parallel universes?? Damn. I really hate this alternate-timelines thing; every time I start to understand it, Amano's just like, "LOL NO." WHATEVER I GIVE UP.


10. Lastly, I don't understand why Tsuna is hanging upside-down from a tree on this page and causing Gokudera to spaz out and Basil to make his usual faces, but I love it. And don't act like you're not enjoying that position, Lambo.


So, while this chapter wasn't quite on the same levels of AMAZING! as the last few, all in all things continue to be loltastic and as always, next week cannot possibly come too soon.
