Of course Gokudera has been changing. He's still cranky, but he's no longer too much of the lone wolf he was when it all started.

It's one thing I've really liked about KHR, this simple, unobtrusive, gradual character development. Tsuna is no longer what he was when he started, even if he still whines. Hibari still is a loner, but now he helps out. Yamamoto is still cheery, but he's gotten serious about life. Gokudera now has his reason for living, no longer the rebel without a cause. Mukuro can more or less be relied on to be an ally now, no matter what is in his head. Chrome now has girlfriends. Ryohei is sorta-kinda dependable now. Lambo is no longer as bratty.

Oh yes, I couldn't agree more. There isn't a single character who hasn't changed in some way since the start of the series. They're all learning and growing and becoming better people, and that will always be the thing I love most about this manga. Power-ups are (very) all well and good, but CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Man, I live for that.

And with Gokudera, I get especially excited because he's my favorite of course, and because in a lot of ways, he's come even further than most of the others. And it's not too often we get to see that growth acknowledged. In this arc in particular he's come along by leaps and bounds, learning to trust the other guardians and even starting to take a step up as a leader. More and more, we're getting to see the awesome right hand man he'll become. I AM SO PROUD OF HIM. :D

I, too, think that the gradual development of all main characters is the greatest merit of this series. Despite all the craziness, we can depend on KHR that it's characters and their relationships will change for the better. Growing up through hardships and endeavors--this is what shounen manga is for, in my (biased) opinion!

I completely agree with ekmisao's comment. Everyone is gradually growing although I could do with more on Ryohei's end (although we did get a shit load of 10YL awesomeness). As crack-filled as everything is, the character development is pretty awesome~

But back to the main point. Yeah, Gokudera. He's too hot for words. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too hot : D

Honestly, the boy has been regulated to a device to allow Tsuna to kick ass ever since the future arc began. The last time we saw him do anything remotely near stand against an enemy was back with goddamn Gamma.

I am not hopeful this awesome will last.

Honest to God, I really do think he'll win this time. I KNOW HIM LOSING ALL HIS FIGHTS IS LIKE A GODDAMN MEME BY THIS POINT, but he's overdue, and I think Amano realizes that. And it makes sense for him to win this particular fight, since with the introduction of Ghost as the latest Millefiore godmode (I assume), Zakuro, Kikyo, and Bluebell are no longer at the top of the food chain, and thus presumably fair game. That's one each for Gokudera, Ryohei, and Lambo. And then on to the main event, yada yada yada.

And obviously this is all extremely biased rationalization from someone who REALLY WANTS GOKUDERA TO KICK SOME ASS ALREADY, but I'm hopeful! It also depends on how much buildup Amano actually gives him in this chapter (the more, the better), but we'll see.

The previous spoilers (69 is now a fish out of water, all the D18), I squealed with everybody but I didn't squeal as a direct fan. OMG! Yay! Yay!

I am recognized as a Yamamoto fangirl, but Gokudera is the one I know well enough to write for, so this set of developments makes me immensely happy, even if I don't look like it. This is more like: YES! GIVE THEM HELL, RIGHT-HAND! Go do your thing for your master and show your stuff!

SO FAR IT LOOKS AWESOME; hopefully on closer inspection the bow will indeed prove teacup-free! Considering the general theme of the C.A.I., I wouldn't be surprised if it was skull and bone shaped like the rest of it. THAT'S HOW HE ROLLS.
