1. Yay, we got the cover. And a color page! How long has it been since we had a nice shiny color page? Too long, I say.

Also, wait, so that's what the character poll all those eons ago (seriously, it took half a year to finally get these results up) was about? I thought the vote was supposed to be who fans thought would win, not which fight would be the coolest. Whoops. XD

That said, I once again find myself a bit disappointed by the Japanese fandom. The winning battle is all well and good (and #2 is also fun times), but fights #3 and #4? Why vote for a battle that we've either a) already seen (well, if training counts, anyway), or b) already know the victor of, without a doubt (assuming that Tsuna didn't kick Gokudera's ass, Gokudera would totally just forfeit anyway. WAKE ME UP WHEN THIS ONE IS FINISHED). Meanwhile, certain fights that would be completely awesome and that I would absolutely love to see (GOKUDERA VS YAMAMOTO! TYL!YAMAMOTO VS TYL!SQUALO!!!1) aren't even in the top five. Mammon vs Fran is all the way at #15, for God's sake. I AM SAD.


2. I can't help but chuckle at Tsuna being an action hero. "I'M GOING IN." *POSE* And Reborn's all like, "We're counting on you! EXCEPT THAT ABSOLUTELY NONE OF YOUR TYPICAL WEAPONS WILL WORK. REMEMBER THAT." It's good that we have someone practical in this group. XD

I interpreted the last panel as Kyoko and Haru being horrified that Tsuna gave Uni such a questionably motivated smile. Then I clicked on the next page and it turned out they were just being worried but supportive as per usual. I like my first guess better because at least it was interesting. Sigh.

Man, Tsuna, when did you get an entire harem, anyway? And to think you used to have lady troubles. You'd never even know now...


3. Come on, Amano, we had to wait three whole weeks for this chapter and you spend five whole pages (well, three, technically, BUT STILL) on Tsuna doing the same damn thing that he was doing at the end of the last chapter? JUST LEAVE ALREADY, TSUNA, GEEZ.


4. Ah, now that's better. NAKED GHOST, I'VE ALMOST MISSED YOU.

And wow, I know Gokudera's been doing that whole "bonding with his enemies" thing much more frequently lately, but I think this must be a record. He's already pressing Kikyou for information like they're actually on the same side. XD Well, desperate times...

Though it could also just be that he has a thing with not liking people turning on their own allies, whether they happen to be his enemies or not. He had a similar reaction back when Gamma was explaining his flashback. Loyalty and betrayal and all that; I think it pings him in his Issues.

5. I know this is just a hologram, but it looks for all the world like Ghost's head floating in a jar on Byakuran's desk. And you know, doesn't that strike you as exactly the sort of thing Byakuran would actually do? I'm just saying.


6. --OH SNAP. *high-fives everyone who put forth the whole "it's a parallel Byakuran from one of the other universes" theory* It's so nice to know that the fans actually can anticipate what direction Amano will go in every once and a while. XD

And he brought him (but apparently not his clothes... and apparently not his manhood??) to this universe after destroying this one, only the technology failed and he ended up becoming "a mutant who sucks up any dying will flames in his path"? BYAKURAN, THAT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF SCIENCE FICTION. Or it would if we weren't talking about a guy in the future who communicates with himself in parallel worlds and wants to rule the universe with a bunch of rings.

By the way, how fantastic is it that he seems to have absolutely no problem with any of this? I mean, it's his own parallel self, and he completely fucked him up and is basically using him as his invincible little mindless pawn. And he's totally cool with that. Byakuran 2010 status: Still a dick.


7. I'm glad Basil confirmed that physical attacks don't work, because now I can be confidently assured that they really are screwed. XD

And amidst all this chaos, I really like that Gokudera seems to be the only one who's still thinking about the big picture, even now. He's the one who thinks to ask Kikyou what the hell is up with Ghost, he's the one who reminds them that they can't abandon their mission because they still have to protect Uni, etc. That's what I like to see in our future right hand man. |D

YAMAMOTO IS BAAAAAACK

AND HE BROUGHT A SQUALO. AND ALSO A DINO. OHLY SHIT I'M SO HAPPY I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO CORRECT THAT TYPO. 8DDD IN FACT THAT'S GOING TO BE MY NEW EXPRESSION OF HAPPINESS FROM NOW ON. OHLY SHIT.

And what a godmodey entrance. AS EXPECTED OF OUR RAIN GUARDIAN. Saving Gokudera and Ryohei, somehow knowing by MAGIC about Ghost's flame absorption ability (or maybe it was the radio, but whatever), having perfect shounen timing... I'd almost forgotten how much I love this man.


9. Aww, and Xanxus and Squalo got... as much of a reunion panel as they're ever going to get, I suppose. XD That's just how things are in the Varia.

I think that's also the first line and/or panel Mukuro's gotten in this entire chapter. I guess with this many characters to keep track of, Amano's starting to forget some of them. Well, but he got more than enough page time in the last couple chapters anyway.

Oh wait, no, it's Tsuna! And he's going to attempt the Zero Point Breakthrough; awesome. I was wondering if that would even work against Ghost's ability (on the one hand, Ghost is absorbing everyone else's flames, but on the other, he doesn't seem to have any actual flames of his own); guess we're about to find out.


So, getting kind of epic up in here. Oh KHR, how I missed you.

I was so incredibly happy to see that. I'm still grinning like an idiot. :DDDDD Although I am SADDENED at the distinct lack of Bianchi. :[ The little Xanxus/Squalo interaction bit was just so hilariously in-character, too.

And I LOVE that Mukuro got one little panel, in which we see that his hair is just as fluffy as ever. That was the entire point, seriously. XD

Yelling almost-orders and keeping everybody on track even though he's hiding behind a tree like the rest of them. XD Oh Gokudera... he really is getting more and more into the leader mindset these days. (And yes, Kikyou's gone a long way toward redeeming himself in my eyes just by virtue of having the common sense--and cowardice--to kind of ally himself with the Vongola in this chapter. XD)

I'm guessing the reason Bianchi wasn't there is because she headed off toward Uni and Shou's group instead. She has to make sure her girls are okay and all. I'm a little annoyed because it means she'll be left out of the fight again, but I can't fault her reasoning within the storyline because someone has to protect Uni now that Tsuna's run off to be a hero.

And yeah, I loved that two-second Xanxus/Squalo reunion; all we needed to see. And Mukuro had his little panel so that we would know he was still there. Heh.

Kikyo beinguneasy about Gokudera talking to him was hilarious! He's like "Wait... why is he talking to me? I must have a FLASHBACK to reveal convenient backstory!"

And he didn't even hesitate to actually answer the question, which is the thing I really loved. Gokudera's like, "KIKYOU! GIVE US INFORMATION!" and Kikyou was just, "Okay, fine, here's how it went down in my flashback." And the whole time they were conspicuously ignoring the fact that they're still mortal enemies. Or maybe they just forgot that entirely in the aftermath of the horror that is Naked Ghost. XD

I suppose the fact that he was connected to all those other Byakurans was such a tempting opportunity for truly epic dickery that he couldn't leave it be. You know you have a villain problem when you're so addicted that you're even screwing yourself over.

I'm going to be honest. I think we ALL Called the Byakuran = Ghost = Byakuran bit.

ALSO, yes, head in a jar? Something Byakuran would do. Provided he could decorate it with flowers so it didn't smell.

I think Byakuran actually IS a little bothered about what happened to Ghost. I mean, maybe it's just my inner Shouichi going 'THAT SMILE IS FAKE' but I think he's a little... IDK. Upset. Maybe about the destruction of Ghost's world (which in my mind is either a) the FIRST world, or b) a world where Byakuran was actually happy)

I'M LAUGHING AT THE FACT THAT DINO HAS TO SUPPORT SQUALO. WHAT. Squalo couldn't let one of the UNINJURED do it? It has to be someone who recently had a fist in their guts?

XD We'll see if the 0 point breakthrough works. And proves that Tsuna = Byakuran = Tsuna.

But that's why I got a kick out of it--for once it was sci-fi weirdness that we all predicted, not something that came out of left field. XD

It had a macabre quality to it that was right up his alley. "Look, Kikyou, this is our sixth and final Funeral Wreath, Ghost. I've put his head here for safekeeping and for aesthetic purposes; I'll sew it back on when it's time for him to fight."

See, what I really want to know is, did he destroy Ghost's world on purpose for the express purpose of bringing him to this universe (after perhaps discovering that was the only way to do it), or was it an unintended side-effect from the operation (he did call it "disastrous", but that could also have been referring to how Ghost came back all wrong)? From the way he described it, I couldn't quite make up my mind. And both of them seem as likely as anything to me. But obviously one of those options is much more dickish than the other. Damn him and his vague explanations.

I bet Dino volunteered. Yamamoto was probably helping, but then he had to run off and be a hero, leaving Squalo all alone with his derpy prep school buddy. HAHAHA.

Lol, it was. I'm not completely sold on Action Hero!Tsuna; most of the time I prefer plain old regular Tsuna. But his over-the-top-ness was amusing, at least. XD

Yeah, it seems like he's gearing up for what will hopefully be an awesome fight next week. And yeah, that was a little awkward, although to be fair, he was really pressed for time and probably didn't know exactly what to say. XD

Well, he never got into specifics, but it sounds to me like Byakuran almost did rip the space-time continuum apart. He ended up destroying Ghost's world, after all, and Ghost himself wound up as some barely-there life-sucking zombie. So there were clearly consequences.

1- I was so happy to see we got a cover page 8D But yeah, the character poll thing confused me too. But Tsuna vs. Giotto is pretty cool. And could actually happen if like, Tsuna had to fight him as another test thingy (like for the X-goves ver. Vongola ring thing).

2-It bothered me that last chapter he was in a different pose all "Everyone! Wait for me!" and now (which in their time has to be like, 2 second later) he's all "...I'm going in." I feel like if that was in the same chapter it would have been more awkward XD

4-I just had to sit there and baw at Gokudera holding Uri so close to him ;___; And was I so read "Retreat to your box, Garyu!" as "Garyu! Return (to your pokeball)!"

6-Haha, yes the fandom called it >8D Byakuran is some kind of villain though, to care so much about himself he doesn't give a shit about himself in another parallel universe.

7-It really is good to see Gokudera doing his job, he's learned to be more responsible in Tsuna's place. Oh, far he's come ='D

8-Yamamoto yeeesssss. It's bad that I'm think "How the hell does a katana block beams of flame suckingness anyway?" but yessss Yama and Sharky and Bucking Horse are back! 8D

9-I was personally amused that Mukuro's first line was "This isn't good!" No shit. LOL.

10-I love how you can tell Dino so forgot what the move was called. He's like "It's...that one move where he does the flame stealing or something!" and then Squalo knows exactly what it is because he was paying more attention in Mafia School than Dino was. Or something.
And that last panel is freaking cracking me up. Because it's just a huge special effect and "DON" and corny ending words but NOTHING ELSE IS REALLY DRAWN. And yet it's so amazing.

IT'S A MAGIC GODMODE SWORD. Maybe because the sword was infused with rain flames, and so Ghost's energy-sucking beam went for that instead? I dunno.

LOL, I hadn't noticed that. And I'm not surprised Squalo remembered the technique, because he's the guy that goes around fighting different swordsmen and mastering/stealing all of their moves, after all. It's like his thing. XD

Haha, yeah. I think at that point Amano was just like, "Come on, let's just put some speed lines and a big explosion here and call it a day. I'm going on my damn vacation already."
