ITP I am trapped in a glass case of emotion.
1. I'm pretty sure what Byakuran's doing here is physically impossible. I don't know who replaced his heart with a high-pressure valve and is pumping blood into his veins as fast as it can shoot out, but man, TYL medicine is freaking amazing. WE'VE COME SO FAR.
Also, the bottom left panel is the funniest thing I've seen in a long damn time, and this is a manga known for being hilarious

...Okay, so I guess the bottom left panel here would then be the funniest thing I've seen since two seconds ago. Amano brought her A game this week! I know this because once again I have no idea what the fuck is happening, only that it's giving me one hell of a confused adrenaline rush.
For example, would you look at that. Byakuran is fighting with boomerang claws made of his own blood. |D Good thing Uni deflected them with her giant spontaneous fireball shield! I'm guessing this is going to be one of those chapters where 90% of my reactions consist of "LOL WTF." That's just a feeling I have right about now.
3. WAIT NO UNI. There's no need to sacrifice yourself now! We have rings! Shiny new rings! Primo released Tsuna's shackles, we got this! WE ARE GOOD, please reconsider... D:
...Reborn's head is gigantic. I'm so sorry, I had to comment even though I am ruining a dramatic moment. Just... look at it, his eyes are the size of his torso wtf.
4. REACTION PANEL INTERVENTION. "UNI-CHAN YOU CAN'T!" They're all so sweetly concerned and naive, only to be brutally shot down. :(
"Their revival is crucial in order to return you all to a peaceful past. ...This is the only chance I can take... and my destiny, which I cannot escape from."
And I only just noticed that the title of this chapter is "When the Rainbow Fades."
...I'm beginning to think my initial assessment was wrong. It's not going to be one of those chapters; it's going to be one of those chapters.

5. Ooh Byakuran got pissed. "You've intervened with my plans one too many times!" I remember a time when I would have given anything (well, not literally; more like a time when I would have said something along the lines of, "Man, I would give just about anything") to see Byakuran lose control and finally stop being Mr. Smiles McGiggles for just a little bit. BUT NOT LIKE THIS. NOT LIKE THIS...!
6. Whoa, Mukuro and Dino are takin' charge and agreeing on stuff. How interesting and vaguely surreal and wow it turns out I totally still ship D69 as much as ever! I am pleased, page 8, very pleased indeed.
And while they're busy talking about taking action, Gokudera and Yamamoto are actually doing something, which I also approve of. Mukuro, Dino, this is why you guys--while admittedly attractive and undeniably useful in your own special ways--are not main characters. While Tsuna's right hand men are admittedly just as useless in their own efforts, at least they, you know. Actually tried.
"We must not be bystanders. Let us destroy the barrier and help Uni out."
"Yeah, you're right! Regardless of what Uni intends to do, it's too dangerous for her to stay in there!"

"..."
"...So, in about five minutes, then?"
"Yeah, sure. Or hey, those guys look like they're already doing it, so, you know. Whatever."

7. I don't think this was ever actually confirmed or denied either way, but is Gamma Uni's father? Because the way his sexy panel just appears out of nowhere right after Uni's done thinking about "mother and grandmother"... I dunno, am I just reading too much into it here? But he's about the right age, and he was totally doing it with her mom, so it makes a kind of sense, right?
Also why is there suddenly a skull there, holy Jesus that's creepy.
8. Oh. ;_; Damn it, that one panel there where she's quietly hugging herself in a corner surrounded by empty white space, and the only dialogue is "I'm scared..." and she looks so small and frightened and alone... ;________;
Gokudera looks about as horrified as I feel. "She's only a kid." Ahh, and they're all crying... I am having an emotional manga moment and I was not prepared for something like this at all. Dammit Amano, if I wanted a good cry I would catch up with One Piece.
9. --did Basil just do something badass.
Holy shit I think he did.
10. Okay, I don't know what to do about this last point because I am all full of /o\ emotions and cannot make jokes, it is too sad and beautiful. So instead I think I'm just going to quote all the parts that shattered my kneejerk humor-based defense mechanisms and made me feeeeeeeel.

I am just completely blown away by the whole thing because this kind of thing does not happen in KHR! This is the manga where Squalo survived being eaten by a shark and being blown up by a guy who turned out to be part T-Rex, and where even when TYL!Tsuna was shot he got better. But this is a kid, dying because she doesn't have a choice, and it's a sad and scary and very emotional drawn-out thing, and when did this start happening in KHR??

2- Tsuna has some weird spinny move thing since he got his tricked out ring that makes panels unnecessarily hard to understand FFF.

I think she did; at least, the manga text was making references to 'the two flames entrusted to the pacifiers.' And yeah, Gamma was really amazing in this chapter; this has to be like the worst possible scenario for him, and yet he's so strong and calm and reassuring, because it's all he can do for her, reassure her and tell her it's okay and she's not alone. But it had to be killing him oh god.

Was that skeleton supposed to be Uni's dead mom? Because the way it was shown side-by-side with Uni's face on the next page, I assumed it was just supposed to represent Uni's fear of death or something. Which is still incredibly literal, but whatevs. XD
MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT BASIL'S DOLPHIN SYNCED ALL OF THE BOX ANIMALS TOGETHER (it was mentioned some time ago that they could do this) AND THEIR COMBINED ATTACK WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO PUNCH A TINY HOLE IN THE SKY BARRIER THROUGH WHICH GAMMA ENTERED SO THAT HE COULD HAVE EMOTIONAL FINAL MOMENTS WITH UNI. Though why the hell Gamma was the only one to enter is beyond me. YOU WOULD THINK someone else would have also taken advantage of this, but noooooo...
