Arrrgh, I still can’t justify the Gokumama!explanation for myself. Was it really that necessary?
I’ve long before, of course, resigned myself to the fact that Amano just has several black boxes that are labeled as “new character designs”, “weird stuff I’ve mentioned before” and “events that didn’t get any justification”, and randomly sticks a hand into one of them when she need a plot twist or wrap up a loose end. I must say, I’m generally okay with resulting meth-reeking wtftacular cocktail, but sometimes it just spills over the edge.
