So, this is my third FST (previous soundtracks are here and here). And I am starting to wonder if this is becoming an addiction. If that's the case, I suppose the first step is admitting I have a problem. :P

Gokudera Hayato. An angry, reckless boy, mistreated by the world, and eager to lash back out at it. He has nothing to lose--and that's the problem.

Crystal Ball (Keane)

That I'm starting to disappear

Sawada Tsunayoshi. An unremarkable boy who never stands out, never stands up. There is something about him--he has the potential to be extraordinary--but he's too afraid to try.

Welcome to the fallout, welcome to resistance
The tension is here, the tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

Tsuna changes first. It doesn't come willingly, and it doesn't come easily, but once it starts, it can't be stopped. The Dying Will Bullet is like the proverbial butterfly beating its wings and causing a hurricane. And so, Tsuna starts to discover who he really is.

And the ripple effect spreads, until it hits Gokudera as well. The willingness to believe again, to take a chance on something... it comes more easily than he'd have ever thought possible.

When I Look at the World (U2)

When you look at the world
What is it that you see?
People find all kinds of things
That bring them to their knees
I see an expression
So clear and so true
That changes the atmosphere
When you walk into the room

The thing about Tsuna is that being around him makes you want to be better. He's like no one Gokudera has ever met in his life. There's a goodness to him that Gokudera would do anything to protect, and even more to understand.

To the unknown, to where you are
And faith makes everybody scared
It's the unknown, the don't-know
That keeps me hanging on to you

What Gokudera doesn't see is that Tsuna's not perfect. He has doubts. He has fears; he's afraid of everything that's changing around him, afraid to just let go and ride it out. He's learning, though--and the courage to do that comes from his friends.

It's a first for Gokudera, actually trusting someone. It's strange how that one thing can change everything.

It comes as no surprise, then, that Gokudera is willing to put his life on the line to protect his beloved boss. The priorities of his mind are simple: Tsuna comes first. Period.

To shine a light on your life
To make you feel loved

Which is precisely where Tsuna starts to object. The thing is, Tsuna doesn't want to just be Gokudera's boss--he wants to be his friend. He wants to be there to support him, to encourage him.

But I do know one thing

And slowly, Gokudera does start to realize that as amazing as the Tenth is, he's still only human. But that only draws him to Tsuna more. Anywhere Tsuna goes, he'll follow.

And Tsuna is learning to accept his friend as he is, obsessive devotion and all. Still, he hopes that one day Gokudera will learn to trust others as well. He wants him to be happy.

Don't care if it's wrong or right

In the end, it doesn't matter if they're in the right or not. It doesn't matter if it's against impossible odds.

Whether it means dying for him, or surviving for him...

...Gokudera will always be there.

It's having a purpose. It's no longer being alone. It's knowing that you're friends, and that making you happier than you ever thought possible, because you would have been content just being by his side.

Yeah, Dare You to Move has kind of screamed Tsuna to me ever since I started reading the series. Which is great, since it gives me an excuse to upload it. It's one of my favorites too.

There seem to be several cover versions of I'll Stand By You out there; every time I did a search for the lyrics, the Carrie Underwood version popped up first. XD Didn't know there was a Corrs version, though--I'll have to check that out.

Nothing Else Matters is definitely love. ♥ Hero of the Day is awesome too! Load was a good album.

...I got linked over here from your Tsuna FST, and realized that one of the cornerstone songs I picked for my 2759 FST that I spent months on and am finishing today is on this ;_;

And your FST is amazingly good, so I can't even get mad about it :(

orz I am sorry. XD But you should go ahead and use the song anyway! For one thing, this FST is more than two years old, and for another, I actually found myself in the exact same situation when I finished my Tsuna soundtrack. One of the songs ("Vindicated") turned out to be on this FST by shadowpanzuko. But after some deliberation, I decided to go ahead and put it on mine as well. It's just more proof that the song was appropriate, I figure. XD

And thank you, btw! Out of curiosity, which track was it?

Well, I'm going to use the song anyway because I spent forever editing manga pages to use as art with lyrics, but it's still kinda frustrating. And I guess the point about just proving the song fits is true, and you as the other FST maker don't seem to mind, which is nice.

Oh God, yes. When I first came across it, I remember thinking, "...was this actually written for them?" It's songs like that that inspire FSTs in the first place.
