Amano's cover pages have often reduced me to a foolish babbling state, be it because of her dazzling coloring skills, her WTF character fashion choices, or her unparalleled ability to convey budding romance between innocent young men. That said, this week's cover truly is on a whole different level. Chapter 310: Lambo! Lambo! Lambo! After years of toeing the NSFW line with unbearably sexy fourteen-year-olds and the occasional Shamal, Julie, and/or Dino, this manga has officially reached the level of COULD GET YOU ARRESTED FOR HAVING IT ON YOUR HARD DRIVE.

2. Anyway, so when we last left off, Gokudera and Tsuna had fallen down a hole only to stumble upon Large, who for some reason is cosplaying as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and Lambo, who for some reason is cosplaying as a cow. Oh, right.

Nice landing, Reborn! I really like Gokudera's expression in that last panel. It's like he suddenly had a moment of surreal realization: "Huh. So this is my life." Yep.

3. Damn! Of all the rocky cave blobs to stumble into, we had to pick the one that was load-bearing! CURSE YOU, CONVENIENT CAVE ARCHITECTURE.

Actually, I have to call bullshit on this one. Tsuna's capable of blasting craters a quarter-mile wide (disclaimer: there is no reference for this whatsoever; it's just my ballpark estimate), so all he'd have to do is disintegrate the entire fucking ceiling. PROBLEM SOLVED. Seriously. I'm pretty sure the only reason he didn't think of this himself is because he was too thrown off by the fact that Large actually talked. :O

4. Hell, he's not just talking, he's in full-blown exposition mode. Adelheid must have finally let him borrow some of whatever super-coffee she's always drinking.

SPEAKING OF HYPER-CAFFEINATED CHILDREN, if only Lambo were as exhausted as a normal five-year-old would be in the middle of the fucking night after a full day of hiking and watching friends get sucked into black oblivion. I can't help but feel like this apparent sugar high is Gokudera's fault. You just had to give him six different types, didn't you? Never could do things halfway.

5. Does anyone get the feeling that Lambo's ability to differentiate between when someone really likes him and when someone really does not like him is almost as warped as Julie's?

I do have to give Large this much credit: He's at least bothering to try and explain the whole situation to Lambo first. That's more than, say, Aoba would probably do.

Of course, then he goes and announces his intention to "blood-bathe" Lambo, so maybe his dickishness levels aren't so far off from his buddies' after all.

6. MAGIC HAIR! An ability of Lambo's we haven't seen in quite some time! Watch and be amazed as he removes a veritable treasure trove of items presumably retrieved from the back of an old station wagon! Also far, far too many dead bugs.

I swear only Lambo has that effect on me. This chapter - excluding the initial KHR crackish chapters - was the most idiotic, spastic and retarded chapter I've ever read. And I don't even mean it as an insult, as Lambo is the embodiment of such idioticity. If he is anything but, Lambo won't be Lambo but an OOC.

My mouth was literally hanging off its hinges when lambo's head was stuck with his er... power ranger helmet (well I was dead against it at for the first couple of minutes - having 5 yr old Lambo to model anything is just an epic FAIL - but when 10 yl Lambo modeled it, the helmet looked badass). He looked dead ugly, and the level of retardedness rose a notch higher - if it is even possible. Well at least that gives me a sense lambo's body size - he is as large as a helmet. Definately malnourished.

And the saddest thing is that this chapter alone beats Ryohei's previous chapters of crap - ahem punching mania. Sorry Ryohei, typical Shonen guys who just punch, or get punched, mindlessly with only ONE one-hit do or die KO move just doesn't cut it.

Damn it, I love Lambo, epic fail and ridiculous body size and all, but after the newest chapter, I can't really give an effective rebuttal to any of this. XD It just really didn't help his case at all. ALAS. (I do have to disagree about him being ugly, though--c'mon, he's adorable! True, the fact that his child self has a mane of curly hair that somehow encircles his entire head including his neck has always been a bit off-putting, but aside from that, he's as cute as any mascot character could hope to be. It's just that he's also so obnoxious that most of the time his cuteness is overlooked because everyone's too busy battling the urge to punch him in the face.)

Can't argue about the Ryohei battle, though. Between that and 311, it's reached the point where I'm mainly just reading this arc for the angst and the plot (and at least 309 was a godsend in that regard). The fighting, not so much. XD

You know, it's kind of nice to see Tsuna's eyes all bugged out again. Even though we may be in a serious arc right now, it's evident that Amano will never forget her roots. Her roots of one-year-old hitmen jumping onto the heads of teenage boys.

Fact: I did not notice the "dandiest man of the Vongola" text until you pointed it out (too busy oggling the man in question, I guess). But oh God, I laughed too. A lot. TRUEST DESCRIPTION EVER.

I love that this is the kind of series in which a character's eyes bugging out can be considered nostalgic, and that the mangaka never lets us forget that.

Yeah, Lambo's early childhood was probably sort of hilariously tragic, like Gokudera's. I mean, five year old being raised by the mafia; you have to wonder what kind of effect this is all having on him at this crucial and highly impressionable age. XD

I would just like to say that it is a confirmed fact that TYE!Lambo is ten fucking inches tall and weighs all of NINE POUNDS. YEAH.

And yeah, somehow he managed to be hotter than expected, and then some. Good job, Lambo; at least you didn't disappoint in that respect, my man.

1. It definitely has to be in my top ten (...well, top twenty) covers, just for the sheer ridiculousness factor. I LOVE YOU, AMANO--AND YOU TOO, LAMBO.

2. You make a good point about him having to cover for Yamamoto's absence. So in addition to losing his temper and bitching about things (his usual job), he also has to make adorable faces and cheer people on (Yamamoto's usual job). He's gaining lots of valuable experience, that's for sure.

3. If he broke apart the ceiling it would fall and squish them, yes. But if he completely disintegrated it, there'd be nothing left to fall on them. And given what we've seen his latest and greatest X Burner do in the past, I think he's more than capable of vaporizing the whole thing. Maybe the counter flame that he uses to stabilize himself would cause too much damage before he could get off a decent shot, though.

7. He hasn't gotten much better at prioritizing even ten years later, apparently. I did lol at that, I admit. XD

10. Yeah, aside from the one-panel cameo at the end of the Future Arc (at least, I assume he was there; don't feel like making the effort to actually go back and check, lol), he hasn't shown up since his TYL!self swapped out along with I-Pin, Kyoko, and Haru all the way back at the beginning of the Future Arc. Which means it's been like three years. Damn.

2- Yeah, the lack of Yamamoto seems to be helping everyone's character out a bit (if you include having seen more serious!Ryohei and everything Yama's learned from being taken down like that as well).
