I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
The highlight of mine was baby sis getting so excited about us all actually sitting down at the same table to eat a meal that she just looked around, beaming, and then burst, "Let's talk about our day!" Sob hilarious guilt trip sob.And naturally, KHR 268 was the other highlight. As usual, amazing, wondrous things are happening courtesy of Amano and her... ways.
1. Wow, Xanxus. Way to be even less of a gray-area good guy than Mukuro. "The Ninth's immediate independent assassination group, beneath the flag of Vongola, will assist those that wear the Vongola rings!" So that's it, no questions asked? No wonder Gokudera looks so adorably puzzled. It's turning out to be a strange day for him.
Also gotta love how the Varia are so callous about Squalo's not-death. Gokudera's all, "Oh man, awkward. Well, about that... he's sort of, uh... Yamamoto went to look for him?" and they're all, "LOL HE'S DEAD!" I like to think it's because they know he totally isn't. And I'm also amused by Uri and Bel-mink's INSTANT RIVALRY. Uri so tops you, mink, you don't even know. You're just lucky you're on the same side.
2. ...Is it a bit petty of me to say that after this page, a teeny, tiny part of me was actually hoping Xanxus would get his ass kicked, just because he was being so obnoxiously confident? XD "LET'S SEE YOU TRY, SCUM." And then when Gokudera tried to offer HELPFUL ADVICE, he was all, "Shut up." Well, fine, then. ;_;
3. "The battle where Gokudera's at is getting violent!" Lol, really, Tsuna? You're surprised by that? Even Uni could have foreseen that one. *rim shot*
How come they didn't use the walkies before? Too distracting, or they forgot they had them, or what? Ah, well.
4. You can't see it, but I am making a very dismayed face at the realization that I'm going to have to go through the rest of this chapter reading Lambo's name romanized as "Rambo." :| AND THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE GOOD SCANLATION, WHAT GIVES.
5. Crap, you guys, Tazaru couldn't take Kikyo down in one strike! There goes our only hope. ...???
Lol, I kinda have to wonder why they even let Nosaru and Tazaru fight to begin with. Maybe they're trying to boost their self-esteem? Would explain Ryohei's insincere, "Good work!" even though Tazaru was clearly ineffective and Nosaru DIDN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING. Hey Gamma, your lackeys kind of fail REALLY HARD. But it's okay, the small child will save you all.
6. Wait a second, this is not the reaction fandom has taught me to associate with Ryohei and dinosaurs. ARE THEY NOT EXTREME ENOUGH? Hmm. But at least Basil is behaving as expected of him.
And already Nosaru is getting clawed faster than you can say "chained to a bunk bed." WHY ARE THEY HERE, SERIOUSLY.
7. Omg you guys. IT'S A DINOSAUR BRAWL, THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. RYOHEI IS PUNCHING DINOSAURS. BASIL IS MAKING FACES. THIS IS THE GREATEST PAGE TO HAPPEN SINCE PEOPLE RODE A SHARK. Check it--Lambo got whapped by a velociraptor tail and Ryohei is all, "LAMBO!! THE DINOSAURS!!"
THIS IS THE BEST MANGA IN THE WORLD.
8. Okay, seriously, Tazaru, you are so not one to talk.
And whee, it's Flashback Where Tsuna Is Against Letting Someone Fight 2.0! And... Reborn of all people is sticking up for the cow. Wait, what? UNEXPECTED. But not unwelcome.
Aww, and Ryohei steps up to the plate. It's so awesome to see him being more responsible. That's a side of his personality that really shone in his TYL!self, so it's great to see him starting to take those baby steps now. MORE SCREENTIME IS NEEDED, AMANO.
9. Bawww, Lambo. ;_;
I love how he's just as shounen deep down as all the rest--remind him of someone he wants to protect, and suddenly he's gar like whoa.
10. AND HOW.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PRESENTING THE MOST ADORABLY BADASS SIX-YEAR-OLD IN HISTORY. SO BADASS HE INSPIRES BASIL TO MAKE NOT ONE, BUT TWO SHOCKED FACES, ON THE SAME PAGE.
It's so appropriate that his box weapon is a shield. And this is exactly how I've always pictured Lambo fighting, lol. He's so scared he's fighting WITH HIS EYES CLOSED, and yet he is doing unbelievable massive damage with his lightning guardian skillz. His battle cry is "Maman!" It's everything I love about Lambo all summed up in one image. Little and wimpy and yet when push comes to shove, YOU'D BETTER NOT MESS. |D
Eeee... this chapter makes me happy.

Lambo made me so proud. ;_; GOOOO COW.
And yeah, it was so great to see him finally get a really badass moment. He hasn't had one since his ring battle way back in the Varia arc. And that was 20YL!Lambo, too; for the little version, this is really his first cool moment ever. MY LITTLE BABY GUARDIAN IS GROWING UP. <3

I was all the prouder because he was so clearly terrified, lol. It makes his dinosaur ass-kicking even cooler because it took that much more guts. YAY LAMBO.
Heh, maybe. It'd sure be nice to see a TYL!Lambo who was a little less wimpy. Or at least less eager to run from danger, even if he's ultimately not much stronger. XD And I mean, they're changing the future anyway, so why not? CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

FINGERS CROSSED, I guess. Not that I'd mind if TYL!Lambo doesn't end up changing at all (I'd still be glad just to see him again; it's been too long), but still, we can always hope. |D
