ITP I let my imagination get carried away.
And somehow the speculation got longer and longer until it turned into an essay thing. OH DEAR.
FIRST LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE PREVIOUS ARCS.
Daily Life Arc - Intro arc; featured wacky antics and many, many character introductions, and served to ease us into the colorful world of KHR, little suspecting that in sixty chapters or so this shit would turn hardcore shounen real fast.
VILLAIN - No one! Life was carefree and delightful.
Kokuyou Arc - The first "real" arc, with a real villain and real battles and real danger and an actual goal (to stop a bunch of guys, but really only one guy, from kidnapping people and stealing teeth and trying to take over the world. lol). This is arguably the first time we got a real glimpse of the uglier side of the mafia, with the revelations about the Estraneo family and their kooky experiments. And of course, it ended with Tsuna getting the power-ups that pretty much changed the course of the series--the Rebuke Bullet, gloves, and the Hyper Dying Will.
VILLAIN - Mukuro, a charismatic teen with zany superpowers and questionable fashion sense who smiled an awful lot and talked even more.
Varia Arc - Then we got to the second of the serious arcs (and my favorite to date, though it's a close call), which delved into the history of the Vongola for the first time and introduced the Vongola rings and the Vongola lineage/family tree (or parts of it, anyway). This was also the first time we had a training arc, and characters other than Tsuna officially joined in and got their own power-ups and development (though Yamamoto and Gokudera had had some beforehand). And it was arguably the first time their lives were really on the line; the stakes were definitely upped in this arc. (This was also the first arc to reintroduce the Jesused villains from the previous arc; hey there, Mukuro.)
VILLAIN - Xanxus, adopted son of the Ninth Vongola Boss, Tsuna's rival candidate for Tenth Boss, and poster boy for anger issues.
Future Arc - And last but not least, we have the Future Arc, in which the characters were transported ten years into a terrible and scary future where not only the main characters' lives but the lives of all their friends, family, and allies were on the line. Oh, and also the fate of the world. Actually, to be more precise, the fate of all the worlds. Ever. This arc featured multiple mini-training arcs and battles, frequent twists so complex they could only be explained by long and sometimes dubious exposition (a nursery rhyme, Uni, seriously?), more in-depth character development than ever before, and a storyline so layered that if you weren't paying attention to EVERY SINGLE DETAIL in the entire history of the manga, you were screwed because EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON! EVERYTHING! Also we got a lot of backstory on the Vongola Rings and the Arcobaleno, and even more info on the Vongola family tree, particularly the first generation of guardians who were all extremely sexy.
VILLAIN - Byakuran, charismatic man with zany superpowers and questionable fashion sense who smiles an awful lot and talks even more (WHERE HAVE WE SEEN THIS BEFORE??). He's also the boss of a rival family and bearer of one of the Mare rings, which have a history with the Vongola rings and the Arco pacifiers, and they apparently created the universe, or they showed up when the universe was created or something, and they're all really powerful and destiny and nursery rhymes and blah blah blah. What I'm trying to say is, while he doesn't have a personal connection with Tsuna exactly, they're definitely tied together in some way.
Soo, we have a few patterns going, and we can kind of get a sense of how Amano likes to do things story-wise. The big question now is, how on earth is she possibly going to top the Future Arc, with its FATE OF THE WORLD AT STAKE!! and its super-powered crazy over the top bad guy and its twisty plot? So I started jotting down possibilities.
1. Amano goes down the Aizen/Sasuke route. Basically, in a terrible twist, someone with a highly personal connection to Tsuna betrays him and becomes the next villain, LE GASP.
PROS - It would be totally epic, and we'd have all the angst that comes from a close, personal betrayal along with all the tension that comes with wondering if the betrayer will ultimately be redeemed or not. And it would be just crazy enough to follow on the heels of the insane Future Arc and yet not disappoint.
CONS - It makes no fucking sense. At all. But then again, this is Amano, so you know, if anyone possibly could make it work... >_>
2. Someone with a prior connection to one of Tsuna's guardians becomes the next major villain. The two people I was specifically thinking of were Yamamoto's mom (because HE HAD TO HAVE HAD ONE, right? I mean, he didn't just appear one day out of thin air) and Gokudera's dad (who gets bonus points because we already know he's a dick). But we could even expand this to someone from the Bovino family, or Hibari's mysterious parents (again, this is assuming he did not just pop up out of a cabbage patch or something), and so on. The awesome thing about this is that it would not only make for angst (can you tell this is a priority with me?), but it would allow for more focus on a popular character other than Tsuna for once! :O
PROS - This would allow for many of the same advantages as the previous arc--angst, betrayal, character development, a more personal scale than the last arc; you get the idea. Plus, anything that would mean more guardian screentime is A+ with me.
CONS - Hahaha this is really not likely to happen. How many shounen mangas take an arc off to focus on the secondary characters instead of just the main lead? Answer: very, very few. Although that's not quite the same as "none", so hey, we'll see.
3. Amano takes the parallel universe route. Since the idea of parallel universes has now been thoroughly established, and since we've already had an arc in a future world, I think an arc taking place in a parallel universe is an option. We have several scientist characters who could make this happen (I'm looking at you, dear Shou), and if Amano decides to take off running, we could even jump directly from the end of the Future Arc into the next; all that's needed is a mishap on the way back to the past ("oh no, the machine did something queer and we are all now stuck in some new mysterious place!"). And voila, depending on which universe we end up in, we suddenly have endless possibilities for new weapons, enemies, and plot twists (what exactly has changed in this world?).
PROS - It's a goddamn canon AU. I don't think I need to explain how amazing that would be. The scale could easily be as epic as the last arc, too--hell, depending on what goes wrong, the very fabric of the universe
CONS - This might actually be too similar to the current arc, and now is probably not a good time for more of the same-old, same-old.
4. Daily Life! Let's face it, you all want more Daily Life.
PROS - DAILY LIFE!
CONS - I guess there are some heretics who dislike the Daily Life Arc who might be upset maybe. Mmm.
5. Shouichi 2.0. Remember that time we all thought Shouichi was totally a villain who Amano had sneakily introduced back in chapter 13 because she's crazy like that? And then it turned out he was a good guy all along, weren't you, Shou. You're a good boy. But anyway, what if Amano did that again with another character, only this time FOR REALSES? Imagine the possibilities! Kawahira! The Cervello! LONGCHAMP!!!!11
PROS - Oh my God can you imagine if Longchamp was really the final villain holy shit.
CONS - Aside from how epic the above scenario would be, this is otherwise kind of predictable and lame and boring.
6. We get the government involved. Why the hell not? This is the mafia, after all; everything the characters have been doing the entire time has been extremely illegal, and so far there have been no consequences even though in real life we've got the Italian government cracking down on Cosa Nostra something fierce. So manga-wise, let's say there's a new guy in town. Wants to CLEAN UP THE STREETS, and is not above taking extreme measures to do this because this is fucking shounen. Eh? Eh? Just think.
PROS - This would be a step in a different direction from crazy end of the world antics, and back more towards mafia basics, which would be nice. And depending on how Amano does up the villain's backstory, we could end up with a really compelling character. I mean, maybe this dude has something personal at stake; maybe he's in it for VENGEANCE. What with the bloodstained history of the Vongola, I'll bet there are people over the years who have been terribly wronged and may still be harboring grudges (or their DESCENDANTS harbor grudges). In fact, that might even be an arc possibility all by itself. Hold on.
7. Someone (or a descendant of someone) who has been terribly wronged by the Vongola in the past and still harbors a grudge appears. There.
PROS - I like the idea of Tsuna struggling to deal with the SINS OF THE PAST as the unwilling heir to that history, and wondering what's the right thing to do and so on. Angst, character development, more personal stakes; it has everything I love in an arc.
CONS - ...Hell, I can't think of any. LET'S DO THIS.
So that's seven different options right there, and as you can see, I have thought about this way too much. So, any other suggestions? Thoughts? I'll probably post this in the comm too in a little bit.
ETA: Haha so I've been a fail replier again this week. XD Sorry; getting to that now!

I wonder what's in store for "Reborn" in the future too. So many things...
no subject
I've lost track of the number of times I've thought the Future Arc was finally close to ending and I started to ponder what the next arc would be like, but it seems like we really are drawing to a conclusion now at long last, so here we go again. |D
no subject
When things is finally drawing a conclusion, we have to keep our fingers crossed at the possible twists the arc may lead us to(even if our brain hurts too much from it, xD)
Ryohei said it best: "I don't get it?! I just don't get it?!"

what the very long answer.... lol...
The last one is the Shishio route and the second one is the Enishi route. The second one I understand is also one of the things YuGiOh did. The third one, YuYu Hakusho did.
It is most likely she will indeed do one or a combination of several of these common routes.
- Definitely Kawahira will come into more solid play.
- Definitely the hell rings will come into play.
- Most likely we get Yamamoto backstory the way we got Gokudera backstory
- Likely Bianchi will be allowed to tell what she didn't get to tell Hayato
- Most likely we get Hibari backstory (especially if the Arcobaleno secrets will begin to be revealed)
- Highly likely Yamamoto will be allowed by Reborn to talk about the Arcobaleno now (unless this is this manga's equivalent of Naruto not reaching Sasuke, Ichigo not reaching Aizen, Luffy still not getting that One Piece thing).
From Kokuyo and Varia arcs, Amano has this way of sprinkling little things prior to starting a new long arc. She has already been doing this, we just don't know how it will come into play. Even the Arcobaleno trials has info-sprinkling.
There are still no solid rising stars of the new decade to replace the Big Three, part of the reason Bleach is allowed to drag on. Of the middle tiers no series is getting wild attention like Naruto got even in its earlier days, none. Series like Psyren, Mago, and Beelzebub have a following, but this following isn't frantic and fangirling. Bakuman can't be considered, and as it is it's beginning to drag and stall. I just hope KHR is not allowed by the higher powers to drag on until it is irrelevant . If it is better for it to end, then it ends.
Re: what the very long answer.... lol...
Oh, yeah, I suspect Fran knows MUCH MUCH more than he is letting on, about EVERYTHING. hehehe.
Re: what the very long answer.... lol...
Someone's relative became a villain in YuGiOh? Whoa, way to up the angst. *impressed* Heh, I guess they're all tried and true storylines for the most part.
I agree with all of your bullet points (and in particular, I will be incredibly sad if the third one doesn't happen and feel incredibly cheated if we don't get the fourth). And good point about Amano sprinkling hints here and there; likely there are all sorts of little clues already. The only problem is it's too hard to tell which ones will play out. XD
Well, SJ hasn't always had the big three, has it? Even if one of them eventually ends (and I'd place bets on Naruto at this point, considering the last few chapters), it doesn't necessarily mean another manga needs to step up in its place. BUT IF IT DID, I sure wouldn't mind if it was KHR. As long as, like you said, it doesn't run past its time (and I really hope Amano wouldn't allow that to happen).
I am a terrible judge of characters (well, Spanner I always figured would be a good guy, but Shou completely fooled me sob; I thought he had had some epic trauma or something that had caused him to hate the Vongola and that while he would eventually be redeemed, it would be the usual shounen way a la Mukuro and Xanxus. BUT HE WAS WORKING FOR THEM ALL ALONG, oh the shock), so I will decline to comment on Fran. I haven't gotten that impression from him, but I also have very few impressions of him at all aside from "I love him" and "he is rather awesome", SO. XD
Re: what the very long answer.... lol...
Shonen Jump always had several sure hits all the time. At the moment, when Naruto and Bleach leave there are still no series to take their places as regular draw-ins for the magazine. While it will last with One Piece, it can't stand just on KHR and Gintama and Bakuman and HunterXHunter. Psyren, Mago, and Toriko still won't be able to carry the magazine on their shoulders, even if they are popular.
Yes, Fran being awesome makes me go out and buy chocolate-covered biscuit sticks. ^^v
Re: what the very long answer.... lol...
True, true. But unless OP is ending anytime soon, they still have time to find more replacements. And it's got a circulation of 2.8 million, so you know, if sales do drop a bit, it's still not the end of the world. XD

I like 1, but with I wouldn't want it to be with Mukuro because that means a) Mukuro dies (which I don't want DDD=), b) Mukuro gets ReJesused and becomes a good guy (which would be completely ODD), or c) nothing changes (which would make the whole arc pointless).
The title character becoming the antoganist? DAMN that would be intense 8O
I love 2 because I really would like a peek into the pasts of the other guardians. Especially Hibari and-- OHOHOH what about I-pin too? That might include some revealed secrets of Fon =ooo I like the idea with Gokudera's dad too. It'd give an opportunity for Bianchi to DO something again lol. And didn't they have "something to tell each other"??
Gahh I love 3 too because it does seem like something Amano'd do. But it would be hard to really make interesting.
I want more Daily Life! 8'ccc After all the villains and stress it would be wonderful. And imagine Varia Daily Life chapters. And getting to know Irie more. FFFF.
I want Longchamp to be a villain so BAD. It would be so random and silly at first and then it would be all "oh SHIT this is actually serious!"
I want more Cervello info too. Somehow. Really, who are they?!
I LOVE 6. We need to be reminded that this is supposed to be about the MAFIA. And for some reason I'm imagining a lot of "Tsuna-kun why so dangerous DDDD'8" action going on. And it'd be a real test for how Tsuna deals with his responsibilities. Ahhh this would b great.
And 7 is also amazing.
So I basically want all of this to happen.
AT THE SAME TIME.And don't worry I think about these things too much too 8D *too lazy to type it all out though*
no subject
I wouldn't want it to be Mukuro either, for the reasons you mentioned. Reborn is still my favorite option, left-field though it would be. Unfortunately since I have predicted it, it will now never happen, but I'll always have the mental images. <3
Fon! Damn it, I forgot to add "Arcobaleno arc" as one of the options. Even though the anime already did one, I still wouldn't put it past Amano to play with them directly herself. And Bianchi DID have something to tell Gokudera (and part of me seems to recall that it actually was about their father), so I CAN HOPE...! *fingers crossed*
I don't think it would be hard to make interesting, actually; just hard to make it seem original after the last arc. I can see a lot of fans complaining if she doesn't do it just right.
Oh my God yes. There are so many more options for Daily Life antics now that the cast has swelled and there's more to play with. This really has to happen I will be so sad if it doesn't. ;_;
YES. At first everyone would be like "OH GOD YOU MUST SERIOUSLY BE KIDDING ME" but then when it turns out he really is evil there would totally be that "oh shit" moment. If there's anything Amano has proven she can do, it's turning something comedic into something deadly serious in the span of a heartbeat. Hell, she did that with the entire series, and we're all still reading it, so...
And yeah, need Cervello info now, please. I really thought we'd have learned more about them by now, actually (foolish me, assuming they had more to do with the plot of this arc than they actually did XD).
6 IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES and totally would be my favorite if the option of an angsty Gokudera arc did not exist. But I would love this, and 7 also.
HAHAHA YES. Just do it all at once and have some sort of alternate universe Daily Life mafia crackdown arc where Reborn, Longchamp, and Gokudera's dad are all recruited by some angry guy with an anti-Vongola grudge FOR GREAT JUSTICE. IT'S JUST CRAZY ENOUGH TO WORK!...okay, no, but still.
no subject
Lol, there's always fic too! *nudge nudge*
Yeah, there's still a lot the filler arc didn't explain.
And I think it was about their dad too 8o Let's see how that works out.
Yeah, it's hard to make something so similar better than what you just did.
Yesyesyes. I miss the Vongola holidays/retarded competitions too.
Yup, no one would by it at first but then it'll be so GOOD and dsksgsdkj this really needs to happen.
Those 2 just come in with their pink hair and masks switching sides like it's nothing.
Oh man that combination is awesome. It would be so perfect: it'd make no sense all while being so understandable. How very Reborn XD
no subject
Yeah, that's true, the anime arc still left plenty of stuff to explore. I really can't wait for this arc to end so we can hopefully get some answers (BIANCHI, YAMAMOTO, I'M LOOKING AT YOU GUYS) and then move on to the next big thing.
It'd definitely be a challenge. Might be better to wait one more arc and then do a parallel universe one.
Oh my God yes. It's been so long since they had a retarded competition; those were my favorite DL chapters. Also I want them to go watch fireworks again, just for sentimental reasons.
I hope Amano realizes that a lot of fans actually do want to see Longchamp again. What with the anime shunning him, maybe she thinks he's better left alone (BUT NOOOO!). XD And yeah, I'm still not sure whose side the Cervello are actually on. They mostly just confuse the hell out of me.
Heh, I'd read it, anyway. XD
Late reply D8
The parallel universe thing will probably come up again, but not as a whole are so soon.
Omg the fireworks I forgot about them D'8 I want to see that too ;_;
Yeah, she's probably just working us up to want to see him again *hopeful thinking*
I have a theory that the Cervello are on no one's side and are actually just there for the good of the world but join the bad guys because I don't know. They are freaking confusing though XD
Re: Late reply D8
Fireworks have sort of become a symbol of everything Tsuna and the guardians are fighting for, so I really hope we get a scene of them getting together and watching them again before the next arc starts up. It would be really sweet and poignant.
If the Cervello really are just there for the good of the world, they really suck at their job. XD Unless there's some hidden agenda we still have no clue about.
Re: Late reply D8
It has become pretty symbolic and it'd be really sweet to see.<3
LOL you have a good point, so maybe that's not it. But I couldn't come up with anything else.
no subject
ahahah fail ;;
no subject
Also, 6 and 7 provide more opportunity to explore what it really means to be a MAFIA, not just a shounen mafia.
But, Parallel Universe could work as well. Though it might need work to make it convincing enough.
no subject
And yeah, that's why I like those last two options so much. People have been saying for ages that KHR, being (in theory) a series about the mafia, should actually, you know, DO SOME MAFIAISH STUFF. It would be amazing if done right (and in my incredibly biased opinion, Amano usually does do stuff right). :D
I would love a parallel universe arc as well, but I do think there might be some fandom backlash if she went that route. But it's not like it's always possible to make every fan happy, so I'm still all for it.
no subject
Yamamoto's mother or Hibari's parents would make really, really cool villains. Unlikely, but DAMN. And we'd get an actual female villain, too.
A canon AU would work really well if it were just events around the main characters that were different -- say, a universe where Xanxus is the Tenth or something. It would pretty much fall flat on its face if we had to deal with new superpowers all over again, though.
When you mentioned Reborn as a villain, my train of thought naturally lead to OH MY GOD LONGCHAMP AS THE FINAL BOSS YES. I'm glad to see we're still on the same wavelength. :D
I've been rooting for #6 since . . . a really long time. DO WANT YES YES YES. ♥
#7 -- again, HELL YES.
no subject
I know Yamamoto's mother is/was a badass, somewhere deep down inside my heart. I just don't know if she's a badass who's on our side. YET. Even if she's not a villain, I do hope we get some backstory on her and Yamamoto himself, because I feel Gokudera and Tsuna have gotten that kind of development but he's been kind of left out so far.
Yeah, it would all depend on how Amano decided to play it. I think it could be great if she separated it enough from the Future Arc for it to stand on its own, but I don't know if that would be possible.
Lol, you know he totally is. He's just biding his time, waiting for that moment to reveal himself at last. :D
As for 6 and 7, HELL YES pretty much sums it up.
no subject
Random thought: What if Yamamoto's mother has been off in . . . Taiwan or something, fighting crime? I can totally see her leaving Tsuyoshi with the kid and the sushi shop while she goes off to make the world a better place. :D And then she comes home years later to find that her son has joined the mafia. We could have #2, #6, and #7 ALL AT ONCE.
Yamamoto needs more backstory, agreed. Hell, everyone needs more backstory. *cough* Kyouko and Hibari *cough*
Longchamp's girlfriends are actually informants or something, a la Roy Mustang of Fullmetal Alchemist. THEY MUST BE.
I really really hope Kyouko's dad is in the yakuza or something. What do the organized criminals of Japan think of all this crazy business with jewellery and chameleons and setting your head on fire? Actually, I really just want more of the mafia world in general . . .
Ooh, I just thought of something! Varia Daily Life chapters. *__* MY NEW KHR HOLY GRAIL. Even if most of the DL chapters dragged for me, I just want to see Squalo spend half an hour trying to dodge the things Xanxus throws at him without spilling his ramen. And maybe Reborn comes to visit and they spend the whole time trying to avoid his 'Traditional Vongola Birthday Party' shtick. (Y'know, I can't help but think that Reborn wasn't around nearly often enough while Xanxus was a kid. I don't think he would have turned out anything like as psycho if he'd spent his teenage years putting up with Reborn.)
Ahaha, that comment was way too long. XD
no subject
That would be amazing and could totally work. Mostly because I absolutely can picture Yama's mother fighting crime in some faraway land and then she comes back and TSUYOSHI WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN TEACHING OUR SON AND JUST LOOK AT ALL THESE TERRIBLE INFLUENCES, I DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM ANYMORE GOD!! Sob, the fact that there is no possible way for all of these ideas to actually happen in the manga is very depressing. I WANT TO SEE THEM ALL.
LOL, he had an information empire the whole time, and they never suspected.
Amano should totally bring in the Yakuza. Why should the Italian mafia have all the fun?
Varia Daily Life would be complete win. You know they have all sorts of Varia-quality antics which are just waiting to be documented and laughed at. (And yeah, something tells me that if Reborn had been around more, Xanxus wouldn't have turned out quite so spoiled and psychotic. JUST A FEELING. XD)
NO I LOVE LONG COMMENTS. ♥ I just fail at replying to them on a timely basis, but that's my fault.
no subject
Haha, I'm in the middle of about five fic challenges and haven't written a word on half of them. But I would totally start plotting a villain!Reborn storyline if I could just figure out a reason for him to turn against Tsuna & co. :D And what's this I hear about more Evil!Yama fic?
no subject
Must not write fic, MUST NOT WRITE FIC, oh god the mental image it is killing me. XDDDDD Suddenly Yamamoto's mom is one of my favorite characters. And we've never even seen her. But we don't have to; she is that incredible.
I HEAR YA, I am totally in the same boat. And sob I've been plodding away at the sequel to Down the Stairs since November... it's still nowhere near finished, but one of these days, one of these days!
no subject
And I want to see all of the missing characters sometime, too: Longchamp, Yamamama (ooh, and I want to see Yamapapa fight sometime!), the Hibaris, Kawahira, Gokudera's dad and his family, CEDEF, the Bovino...uggh, the possibilities are endless!!
Another possibility could be timetravel into the past. Maybe something happens with Giotto and the first guardians so the Vongola no longer exists, and Tsuna and the gang have to travel to the past and help set up the Vongola. I know Amano's already used the timetravel in the current arc, but it would be an interesting plotline to follow (plus we would get to see more of the Primo Guardians \o/)
no subject
no subject
Haha, same here. I've been loving this arc, don't get me wrong, but it's been going on forever and I'm really anticipating a change of pace after this. That's why 6 and 7 are probably my favorite options
after evil!Gokupapa just because I am obligated to root for the option with the most Gokudera angst potential. And maybe Shamal would have a bigger role then too, which is A+.I'm sure all of those characters will show up again (or at least I hope so), but I have to say, I especially agree with this: I want to see Yamapapa fight sometime! AND HOW.
And I hadn't even thought of that last but yes. *_* If they can timetravel into the future they sure as heck can timetravel into the past, hell yes. Like you said, Amano could easily come up with some sort of plot reason why they have to do it. The only reason I can think of why this might be less likely to happen is that the anime is already doing a Primo arc. But still, I would LOVE to see Decimo!guardians interacting with Primo!guardians oh god that would be brilliant.
no subject
1. This seems to be the trend in many of the shounen hits now but I agree that if Amano would do it, it would be done in some awesome cracked up way. I'm not quite convinced that it would be Mukuro, although out of all the guardians he would have the most potential. I feel like he
wantsneeds Tsuna too much to go through the effort of betraying him. Really random, I would totally love to see Lambo betray them. Most likely for candy too XD2. I don't know what your talking about. Hibari has been around FOREVER! He just asexually reproduces ever thirty or so years. As for Yamamoto, I'm sure he hatched from a baseball. My bet is on Gokudera's father because that would instantly mean 300% more
HAWTGokudera.Like you said, the chances of this happening are nill but hey this IS Amano that we are talking about!
3. Canon Au would be brilliant! I would love to see them in a fantasy world or even a more Meiji era type thing. Dies at the thought of everyone in samurai attire and kimonos
4. It would be a nice way to give close to the whole series and tie up all the loose ends.
5. Villian Longchamp FTW! As a bonus he assembles all these random people as his guardians including! Kawahira, Lancia, and Cervello (bc they are everywhere).
6. It works! I can see the government using extreme measures to do so. It could go a step further and be Interpol or even a task force issued by the United Nations or some random Shit like that.
7. Someone from the Ninth's generation! Hands down!
no subject
1. Lol, Lambo totally would betray them like that. Well, some of them
GOKUDERAanyway; I like to think that he can't be turned against Tsuna and the girls so easily, but if there was candy involved... oh, who am I kidding. XD Though seriously, if Amano could work it so that Reborn was the betrayer somehow... holy shit best arc ever.2. ...mental image of a brand-new Hibari spontaneously popping out of a 30-something Hibari get. ...what is this. XDDD I AGREE THAT GOKUDERA'S DAD BEING THE VILLAIN WOULD MAKE FOR SOME DAMN GOOD TIMES; 500% more Dera angst + increased possibility of Shamal getting involved somehow = must happen. I'll continue to hold out hope for an arc like this until the manga ends, damn it.
3. Haha, a Meiji-style AU would be amazing, because you get the time-travel element and the AU element all at once. *_* And Yamamoto would thrive in that kind of situation, too, and we could always use more Yama.
4. Or even just a few DL-style chapters in between this arc and the next. I'd be satisfied with just that.
5. You know Longchamp is totally the final villain and the Cervello have secretly been reporting back to him this whole time, keeping him updated so that his master plan stays on schedule. And Kawahira is his right hand, baby.
6. Heh, with the way Vongola has been built up over the years, I almost wouldn't be surprised if an international task force was the only measure powerful enough to deal with them.
7. You know Timoteo had enemies. Enemies that still bear him epic grudges. An arc like that might delve more into why he chose Tsuna as his successor in the first place, too, which would be awesome (I've always been curious about that; yeah, Reborn said it was because there were no other options, but I've never really bought that).
no subject
Amano has been very linear with her storyline; first is the Daily Arc (charas intro), then Kokuyo (Mukuro and the Mafia world intro), Varia (rings intro) which all culminated to the gigantic Future Arc (which intros the Trinisette)... so I think the next one would focus on the Trinisette. After that, I really can't think of anything more Amano could add so Reborn could probably end after the next (gigantic) Arc.
But I really like your ideas! The Aizen/Sasuke thing is, as you said, very unlike Amano BUT YOU NEVER KNOW (I just dunno who will betray Tsuna, and Amano likes to leave clues... GOSH I JUST HAD THIS IDEA OF BOTH YAMAMOTO AND GOKUDERA BETRAYING TSUNA DUE TO BRAINWASHING OF GOKUPAPA WTF).
And a parallel world arc, that's really plausible. Something must have enabled Byakuran to go to that parallel universe, steal Ghost and then destroy it, right?
And Longchamp. LONGCHAMP HAS GOT TO REAPPEAR AGAIN. He got a whole volume of chapters! Characters who were only MENTIONED before have appeared already!
Aahh I'm excited! XD

True, but there's always the possibility that after the Future Arc ends (and with it, the plot that began way back in the Varia arc), we'll just go forward into another trilogy of arcs or something. She has been pretty linear so far, but I don't know that it's necessarily a pattern (and even if that's the case, I'm sure the groundwork for the next arc--whether it's Longchamp or parallel worlds or whatever--has already been laid, so that pattern isn't necessarily ending just yet).
Heh, I can't ever imagine Gokudera in particular betraying Tsuna (though who knows... if he was blackmailed or something, maybe; HE HAS A LOT OF ISSUES STILL), but if anything like that ever did happen it would be epic like whoa. WHICH I REALIZE I HAVE BEEN SAYING ABOUT LITERALLY ALL OF THESE ARC IDEAS, but that's only because it's true! THEY'D ALL BE EPIC. WHATEVER COMES NEXT, IT IS GOING TO BE EPIC. Haha, I am really excited too, obviously. XD

Honestly, I would die if there was more daily life. Daily life was almost why I stopped reading Reborn. But promises of Mukuro made me push on!
...LOL. AHAHAHAHAHA. LONGCHAMP. AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. I DIED LAUGHING. SO HARD. AHAHAHHA. LONGCHAMP WOULD BE THE BEST VILLAIN EVER. EVERRRRR.
6 and/or 7 is good too. I did always wonder WHY DON ' T THEY IN TROUBLE FOR THIS?! I mean ... I know it ' s a manga but .. STILL. COME ON. I would down for that shit.
But seriously. If Amano does anything, I want character history and development. Like ... Hibari hates his parents cause they bit him to death and then he got revenge and kicked them out and then they come back to beat the shit out of him for his wrong - doings. I BET HIS PARENTS ARE HEADS OF THE YAKUZA. JAPANESE MAFIA VS ITALIAN MAFIA ANYONE?! ANYOOOOOONE?! Yama!Mommy is a need too. <3

I'M SORRY WE MUST BE THINKING OF DIFFERENT DAILY LIFE ARCS, THE ONE I READ WAS HILARIOUS AND FULL OF WIN. :P Haha, but I know a lot of people felt like it was a chore to read past (and secretly, I read through it a little faster myself once I found out that Tsuna got a badass upgrade in the Kokuyou Arc), so yeah. BUT I STILL WANT AT LEAST A FEW MORE CHAPTERS; it would be a nice break between major arcs if nothing else. :(
HE IS THE FINAL VILLAIN, YOU KNOW HE IS. And Kawahira and the Cervello are totally his secret minions. When he finally reveals himself it's going to blow everyone's minds. |D
And I agree that character development is the most important thing, whatever direction the next arc goes in. My secret headcanon is actually that Hibari's parents are completely and utterly normal, just because I think it would be hilarious (they love their son and are completely, blissfully unaware of all of his shady dealings, convinced that he is a Nice Boy <3). But I definitely want Yama's mom to show up randomly at some point and tada, she is gorgeous and a badass. Heh, but really I just want more backstory on the guardians in general. However Amano decides to play it is fine by me.
