Well, what do you know? Suddenly it's been a week!

TIME SURE FLIES WHEN YOU'RE BUSY NOT UPDATING YOUR JOURNAL LIKE YOU OUGHT TO BE. I have like 30-something comments that I have yet to reply to. I wish I could say this wasn't a common occurrence. XD Sorry, guys.

1. Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] kat8cha, [livejournal.com profile] starlinglove, and [livejournal.com profile] fishkro! That's interesting; it appears that the end of August/start of September is a prime time for awesome people to be born. Hope you all had fun! ♥

2. For the record, I have no issue if anyone wants to link my public posts to Facebook or Twitter or wherever. If I did, they wouldn't be public posts. So go ahead (not that I really think anyone was lining up to do that in the first place).

3. AHA! KHR 304! You thought you could sneak up on me when I wasn't looking, didn't you?

1. Something new observed today: Kangaryuu is kind of scary. That's one box animal I wouldn't want to run into down a dark alley.

--unless he looked like this. LOL. YOU KEEP ON ROCKING HARD, GARYUU.

2. Hell yeah. BD Okay, Yamamoto is still the unrivaled king of entertaining battles, and Gokudera is still the king of flippin' awesome powerups (I have no doubt that the inevitable Sistema C.A.I. upgrade is going to blow our minds), but what Ryohei does, he also does exceptionally well. And what Ryohei does is FIGHTING WITHOUT A SHIRT. FUCKING YES.

I swear I am only a little bit shallow, really. Mmm mmm, look at those low-rising pants... Ryohei, you and Gokudera should compete in a battle of sexy hips sometime. OH AND HEY YOUR ARMOR IS ALSO PRETTY COOL. It looks powerful. And stuff. Yeah.

3. Shit, I forgot that all of Ryohei's fights have an inconvenient time limit. Apparently Aoba didn't forget, though! Because the Shimon family's research team does not completely suck! Everyone in the Vongola family, please kick yourselves right now, and remember, you deserve it. Also I wonder who their source is. (KAWAHIRA?!?! You know I'm going to keep on saying that until one day it finally comes true.)

4. Oh, the hell with it. Aoba is being all obnoxious with his stupid tantalizing hints and suggestions, so let's just have a guessing round RIGHT HERE AND NOW.

DATA:

  1. "Someone who knows the Vongola better than anyone else in this world."
  2. "...and is most disappointed in you."
  3. And it's someone who has data on all of their fights, including the fights in the future.

POSSIBILITIES:

  • Reborn (damn, I wish this wasn't blatantly impossible. MAYBE YOU HAVE AMNESIA, REBORN??)
  • Primo (much more likely, except that even if he didn't approve of the direction Vongola has taken, I still can't picture him actively helping another family to take them down. Plus he's Tsuna's number one fan and all that)
  • Secondo (HIM, on the other hand... Of course, there's still the issue of HOW THE HELL COULD THEY POSSIBLY COMMUNICATE WITH HIM, but it's KHR. Anything is possible)
  • Shimon Primo (except how would he know anything about the Vongola's fighting styles?)
  • Nono (could it be the cluelessness was all a farce?)
  • Xanxus (except I can't see him betraying the Vongola, even if he's very unsatisfied with the current leadership)
  • Byakuran (well, he's known the Vongola in literally billions of universes, so! And he does sort of hate them! And he is a confirmed dick, so we know better than to put this past him)
  • KAWAHI-- *SHOT*

I AM JUST SO CURIOUS NOW. To think that a mystery would come along that would actually overshadow my joy at finally learning another one of the Earth flame types. But I'm happy about that as well. YAY FLAME OF THE FOREST~

5. OH FUCK YES. YOU TELL HIM, RYOHEI. LOOKS LIKE THE RULES OF THE FIRST SUN GUARDIAN DO NOT APPLY TO HIM, BITCH. So much for that time limit.

And now for the obligatory pre-match taunting. Hey guys, I thought this was boxing, not pro wrestling.

6. Now that's more like it! Jogging toward each other in boxing stances! Something else new observed today: Boxing matches are really hard to draw without making them look completely ridiculous. This will hopefully be a lot cooler in the anime. XD

AND MEMO TO AOBA: THAT IS CHEATING.

7. Oh! He dodged it! Good for you, Ryohei! What happened to the upper part of your chest??!

--Never mind! Answer that later! Right now you have more pressing concerns!

Just once, it might be nice to see someone not-Hibari go into a fight and just have no trouble at all kicking the other guy's ass, without any of this get-our-butts-kicked-for-the-first-half-and-then-come-back-strong-to-take-the-lead nonsense.

8. HAHA, BUT THE JOKE'S ON YOU, AOBA! HIS NOSE IS ALWAYS BROKEN. OR DO YOU THINK THAT BANDAGE IS JUST FOR SHOW.

But by all means, keep taunting him. I'm sure that will not end at all badly for you.

...Then again, maybe not. Maybe instead, Ryohei will fall for the same trick twice. :|

9. "It would be easy to beat you up with flames. But the finishing blow will be my fist!" Eureka, just the chance we've been looking for! Like his boss, Aoba has no knowledge whatsoever of the Evil Overlord List! GO FOR IT, RYOHEI, NOW IS YOUR TIME!

10. ...Damn it, Ryohei.

SIGH, you just had to be a dramatic little show-off, didn't you. What are the odds that next week he asserts that he let Aoba punch him on purpose to test his strength or something? WHATEVER. In any case, I see we will have to wait a whole nother week to see how this fight is going to end.

But I should just be grateful that Ryohei is even getting a two-chapter fight. I just wish he would make an attempt to look less foolish while taking advantage of it. XD

wooohoo~ weekly dose of Reborn!
Hmm...secret person....ummm....idk, Dr. Shamal? Maybe he's...angry that Bianchi never....dates him???!!!....*fail*
WAIT!!! NOOO! IT'S LONGCHAMP! IT'S THE MOMENT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!

(how did IEM translate adel's pride thing better? i fail at finding their stuff even on their website)

yay fight scenes! but let's face it, the vongola are like the american soccer team...always suck in the first half, and then come back in the second half with a passion and ALWAYS at the literal last minute

..............now let's just hope Shimon isn't like the Ghana team D:

(btw maybe i was wrong about the whole "like" button for lj what with this FB repost jazz haha!)

HOW DID I FORGET LONGCHAMP?! He was even at the Inheritance Ceremony, too! Clearly he was passing the Shimon family information RIGHT UNDER THE VONGOLA'S NOSES, the fiend. Oh, he's good.

You can read IEM's version of the previous chapter here; I think Adelheid's exact words according to them were, "Everyone holds a different pride within themselves. We should decide on the battle rules with that in mind." So basically, Binktopia got it backwards. Which was pretty silly of them, given that later on in that very chapter, Aoba and Ryohei did exactly what Adelheid described.

Haha, I like that analogy. I hope that doesn't mean the Vongola are the underdogs, though. XD

(FACEBOOK IS TAKING OVER THE ENTIRE FUCKING INTERNET, that's all. Though I kinda think everyone's making a bigger deal out of it than is really necessary. XD)

I'm actually one of those people that if the Facebook account friends know more about the anime and my writing, and how jump-off-a-building i sometimes am, things will adversely affect my mother (she's in that level of respect in my world). And I'm not even into yaoi or shonen-ai. So the potential of this connection, it worries me. The same is true for a lot of other people.

[identity profile] makeste.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough, but the thing is, if you're that concerned about your privacy, there is nothing stopping you from simply locking your posts. According to the FAQ, linking a comment on a private post will show the text of that comment on FB/Twitter, but nothing else; the entry itself will remain locked to anyone who doesn't have access.

I don't particularly like the idea of my Facebook friends stumbling across my own journal (in fact that would be terrible), so I understand that much, too. But the way I see it, as long as you keep your Facebook and LJ activities separate, there's pretty much zero chance that a link to one of your LJ posts could ever find its way to your mom's Wall. Unless someone who also has your mother friended decided to link your post against your explicit wishes, and I would hope you don't actually know anyone who would do something like that. ;;

My mom doesn't even have FB.

What i fear is what I often already hear happens, already happened to me once: FB post (in my case it was a fit of rage spread offline, in another case it was pics that was posted by others then shared to the network) --> others read it --> others gossip offline about it --> gossip reaches my mother or offline drama happens.

You are right about that. But to keep things down I'm reducing LJ activity for the moment.

Yeah, I expect that's what most people are worried about. But the Internet is a public domain, and there's always been that risk (though a slim one) that what you post online might come back to haunt you in one way or another. This new Facebook Connect thing maybe increases the chances of that happening a bit, especially if people are careless, but it's always been a fact that when you post something out in the open, there's a possibility that the wrong person will read it.

A few months ago, my stepmom accidentally stumbled across pictures of my brother and his boyfriend on Facebook, and showed them to my dad. Needless to say, it was not the way my brother would have preferred to eventually out himself. It made things pretty tense between him and my dad's side of the family for a long while afterward, and even now things are only just starting to really calm down again. You can bet that afterwards, he was kicking himself for putting the pictures up in the first place. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but he never considered that the information might spread in ways he didn't expect.

I guess if nothing else, this whole thing might at least make people more aware of that risk, and be a little more cautious about what they post publicly. It's not a bad thing in that sense.
