BACK FROM D.C. obviously; thanks to everyone who wished me a good time. It was a lot of fun; aside from the usual monuments/memorials (my fave has to be the World War II Memorial; it was so pretty I could have spent hours just sitting by the fountain), we also checked out the Smithsonian (the Air and Space Museum kicks ass; we got to see the Wright brothers plane) and the National Gallery of Art.
We also went to check out the White House on Saturday night, and while we were wondering aloud whether Bush was back from Beijing yet or not (we hadn't been able to check the news all day), one of the security guards cut in and told us that nope, he was still there, and that on top of that he was scheduled to head to his ranch in Crawford when he returned. To which we responded something like, "...." (We found out later that Bush did end up
canceling postponing the Crawford vacation, after spending the entire weekend chilling out at the Olympics. What a dedicated world leader. XD)
ANYWAY, blah blah politics blah. The Olympics have been really awesome so far. Michael Phelps is amazing, holy shit. I was cracking up last night watching the men's 4x200 relay because he gave the U.S. team such a ridiculous lead; it was hilarious watching the world record line try in vain to keep up.
Aaaaand, getting back to fandom stuff, have a meme from
azartti!
